It's a different board with different rules and different consequences.
Shades or Keene can also begin a crack down on abusive posters. This may save this board from slowly dying as competition increases for posters.
Is it abusive for me to point out the fact that you are a jack Mormon?
Well, lets see, I don't drink alcohol or smoke...I always thought a jack Mormon did that. But I am wishywashy.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world. Joseph Smith We are “to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all…” Joseph Smith
Will do well by whose standards? We lose posters all the time, for a variety of reasons. Some people just don't like to get hammered all the time.
I think it's true that we lose posters because they feel "hammered" however, I don't see a better alternative to how this board is run. These are the types of things that lead to banning on MAD or capping on Z. I think Shades is trying to avoid that sort of thing.
I agree with you, Jersey. I was just pointing out to Merc that "doing well" was probably a misnomer.
People come to a bulletin board for so many different reasons, it's impossible to please everyone. Some want a serious discussion, some want to derail every serious discussion that starts. The ones who want a serious discussion get really PO'd at the ones who derail their thread. Some only want entertainment, so their comments tend to be either off topic or immaterial. Some want answers; some only have questions. Some want to only attack. Some really don't like getting attacked. Some ignore everything they aren't interested in. Some just can't do that.
Impossible to please everyone. I've seen boards die because it's impossible to please everyone.

I don't think that I was snippy with you. And, if I was snippy with you, I apologize. I did try to explain where the Moderation Team was coming from as far as the formation of the idea, but that's basically it.
The only person I was openly rude to was Infymus, and I will not apologize for that. He had it coming, and he knows it. He accused me of trying to turn MDB into another MAD, and tried to pin the whole Faith Based Thread idea on me, because I was the "Mormon" on the Mod Team, and he seemed to feel that I was trying to give preferential treatment.
Anyone who has dealt with me on this board knows that that is the farthest thing from the truth. Good grief! I was the "infamous" Mod who was banned from FAIR/MAD! Give me a break!

I'm going back home to spend time with the family for a while.
So I'll be away from the message boards for a coupl of weeks.
Have you been in the States lately, Kev? You should try to get to Sunstone in SLC this summer. That way we can swap BoA-apologist atrocity tales over lunch or something.
