What are you trying to do by bringing this up...cause trouble for his brother and his family?...Boaz, your friends on that board are jerks to sit around gossiping about whether a man "looks" or "sounds gay". What immature, insensitive little creeps.

While I suppose Boaz's history might suggest that he had some obnoxious motive for posting this, that's not how I read it. The text he quoted was actually quite positive about the new apostle's gay connections, and I think it may actually be a glimmer of hope for the Church. At the very least, Christofferson will be more sympathetic to gay people's struggles than the conservative triumvirate.

That is what I meant with my Old Testament.

Will his gay brother(not there is anything wrong with that) aid in shifting Todd's choices as a leader more towards accepting Homosexual Mo's?

I imagine given the distribution of gay men and lesbians in the general population, every general authority has at least one gay family member--that they know about--and who knows how many more that they don't.

Let's see, in a country of almost three hundred million, and with people in the general population who's sexual orientation is exclusively homosexual situated historically at about 3%, and perhaps slightly more, what are the chances of any specific American having either a homosexual sibling or offspring?

Pretty good, actually. Statistically, the range for homosexuality in the general population is considered to be between one and ten per cent; with immediate and extended families tending to be larger in Mormonism, the likelihood of having a gay family member goes up.

With the emphasis on marriage in the LDS Church, gays and lesbians might be less visible (particularly if they are married, as is the case with many), but they are a significant presence. Many of them hold positions of leadership, raise families, go to the temple, go on missions. Some make it work; some don't.
The road is beautiful, treacherous, and full of twists and turns.
