If they don't talk then the pre-trial stuff could go on for years: keep them in foster care and put it over for six months for mediation and then another three months for futher mediation. If they start talking then that would speed things up.

And how would they know who the 15 year old lives with? Who's going to tell them?

The FLDS stall really well and they protect their own. Look how long it took to capture Jeffs, and that was just a freak accident.

This will go on for years.

Secondly, I doubt Texas will let the abuse go on like they do in Utah and Arizona. I think they have more..... guts!

Third, as Harmony suggests the lies will be deep and dark. Already investigators are having difficulty trying to get names, dates, names of parents, ages, etc. etc. They have a long road ahead of them, as will those removed from the compound. However, for the children and women, the road ahead will be nothing compared to the horrible abuse they will continue to encounter if they are NOT removed.

Finally, I did hear (not confirmed) investigators are going to ask DNA testing be done to help sort out the mess.

Yes, totally agree! For many years, these groups were able to get away with their abuse by standing behind "religious rights and freedoms," the can of worms that authorities didn't want to open. It has crossed the line today, as we have zero tolerance for sexual abuse of teenagers, and the mental brainwashing that precludes it.

I hope this "raid" is the beginning of stamping out the cultish groups that believe they are above human decency "under the banner of heaven," once and for all!

Mormonism FLDS style? No. These problems don't exist in the LDS church today, so don't even go there, Merc.

So if there is a reformed Klu Klux Klan you would not have a problem with its membership?

A lie based on other lies is still a lie. Stop trying to hold onto something you think you still need.

I know exactly what I need, Merc. You have no idea what I need, so stop trying to give me advice I've already rejected.

I suddenly have this fear that DNA testing will indicate that everyone is the same person from years of inbreeding . . .

But more seriously, it should provide evidence of statutory rape which should help prosecutors make their case.

I really, really hope the Texas officials have their legal ducks in a row.

Living in Tejas, I hope so too but don't hold your breath. Texas law enforcers actions stink, all you need is half a dozen OJ type thugs, they will milk the system for what is worth.
