Reimbursment for "Charitable Contributions"

Post by _Inconceivable »

Like many of you, I was a full tithe payer all of my life. I was deceived on multiple levels. It was only through the institution of deceipt that I contributed.

I want my money back. I want compensation for the opportunity cost as well. It is substantial. I am not alone.

Have there been any suits (class action or otherwise) setting precedence in such an undertaking?

It sure seems like there should be some kind of action you could take against the church.

With the emotional badgering, the threats of ripping you from you family, promises that you "won't burn" if you pay, denial of the temple, etc. It seems overly coercive.

I think it's a case of caveat emptor.

Oh well. We all make stupid purchases throughout our lives. This just happened to be one of the biggest.

...wondering what my retirement account would look like if i had invested my tithing instead of building temples with it...
