Angry Beavers were great, but how about CatDog?

Angry Beavers was alright, CatDog...ehh. Seemed like they tried to combine Ren and Stimpy into one character, except that the writing sucked. I always wondered how the CatDog pooped. :/

But if you want to get down to it, you gotta mention Rugrats (not to be confused with All Grown Up, those posers), and Doug. Now Doug had a supporting cast! Porkchop the dog carried the mantle for a long time, a decent segway between the Snoopy era with the Brian from Family Guy era. Skeeter, Roger, Patty...all excellent supporting characters. But the alter egos of Doug were what really ruled. Quailman? Only a pot smoker could come up with something as awesome as that. And Race Canyon, Smash Adams, and Jack Bandit continued to add layers to Doug that weren't seen in an animated character until Shrek made the point about Orgers being like onions.

The Nicktoons today suck when compared to those originals. Actually compared to the new crap (of course I got old and stopped watching cartoons mostly so maybe I'm biased and am prejudiced towards the oldies) Rocko is probably Top 4 in my opinion with Doug, Rugrats, and Ren and Stimpy.

Bear in mind that none of these are even on the same floor as The SImpsons, King of the Hill, and too a lesser extent, Family Guy. American Dad is quickly moving up the board for me, but Futurama never has done it for me.

Um...I also love a bunch of the old WB cartoons.~~~But not the Disney ones really...although some of movies were great.

And if you want to get picky: Ducktails, Darkwing Duck, and Tailspin were great.

If you are a "CaliforniaKid" in Southern California you'll be pleased to know it comes on every morning at 6 on channel 189 - I love TiVo so much.

But I have to say Ren & Stimpy was the best cartoon ever. Hands down.

The best cartoons ever are the classic Bugs Bunny and Road Runner cartoons, followed up with Scooby Doo in a close second.

I have to admit, though, I DO love "Pinky and the Brain".

I think the Road Runner cartoons were the best of the Golden Age, even better than the Bugs Bunny (particularly the Bugs cartoons now considered racist), but I think the Simpsons via their longevity, social commentary, and continued pop culture relevance are the greatest cartoons of all time. And they haven't jumped the shark either.

I completely disagree with that one.

They jumped the shark in season 7. The Simpsons movie was awesome, but the show. . . I've been "meh" about it for the last 8 years or so.

Now, you wanna talk awesome shows, The Tick? That was made of compressed awesome.

Oddly enough, you have to subscribe to the "CARM Statement of Faith" to be an unpaid moderator:

I literally laughed out loud when I clicked the link.

I wonder if Shades has any Statement of Faith for his moderators...

Very nice page. I especially like the explanation of "Godhood";
There is one God in whom there are three eternal, simultaneous persons -- the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. All three are the one God, coeternal, coequal, etc., yet there is only one God, not three, and not one person who took three modes, or forms.

You should listen Slick guy, it's even more entertaining.
