It must have happened a long time ago. Abortion isn't illegal anymore.
Imagine the guilt felt by a child who is sexually abused, and must live out her life knowing that she should rather be dead because she did not fight hard enough to make it stop.
I know what that's like because it happened to me when I was eight, and I felt sick with guilt every time I had a bishop's interview, knowing that I could never be pure because of something that happened to me.
Leaving the church was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'm not made to feel guilty for something I had no control over.

I think the Church is past this. I think Elder Scott's recent conference talk indicate this.
