That poorly worded "raise up seed" argument is all that you have.
Not at all. There is the example of scripture 2 Samuel 12:8-12 for example and there is also D&C 132 that communicates the same message that plural marriage is not a sin if practiced according to God's authorization..
Whoever wrote it was aware of the crap in the old testament. He was weak to have attempted such a feeble justification without even one specific example.
Then you can't possibly think so well of the writer of Jacob whcih was my point.

BC,
I do not believe 2 Samuel. It's crap.
D&C 132 is an embarrassment to any Mormon with a conscience. I dare you to take it to work one day and read it to everyone during lunch. Then, of course, bear your testimony.
I don't think the writer of Jacob 2 was a prophet.
It's all fallable.
So go ahead, weep, wail and gnash your teeth. I'm still not buying crazy today.
De facto polygamy exists already. Legalize it between consenting adults so that they have protection under the law, and so that the children are legitimate.
"Big Love" style polygamy seems a lot more admirable than most marriages I've seen.
Frankly, I'm shocked at some of the Mormons here coming out against polygamy. I was taught we would practice it in Heaven, so why call it an abomination? There's a good chance Heavenly Father has polygamous wives, so you'd think he'd frown on that kind of opinion.
No. Just like I don't think prostitution should be illegal or a number of other things.
I do think it's downright hilarious though, that 21st century Mormon moral values condemn the integrity of 19th century Mormon moral values, and the restored gospel predicated on them, more so than the values of just about any other group ethics on the planet. It's one of the things that makes the church such a joke.
