How would we know if God were lying?

Post by _Scottie »

There are several scriptures in the Bible that tell us that God cannot lie. It is against His very nature, and if He were to lie, He would cease to be God.

How do we know God isn't lying about not being able to lie?

We don't. However, I can't see what an omniscient being has to gain by lying.

God says that He can "mislead" us to work upon our hearts ala D&C 19 regarding eternal damnation. It's just not "lying".

I think we need to work with what we have. The deeper question is: can we trust those humans who tell us about god.
And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time
And lost in space...and meaning
