Post by _Dianne Ormond »

Apr 23, Wed, 7:00 pm- Layton City Library (155 N. Wasatch Dr., Layton) We will be having an open discussion on books, that aren't about anything LDS in particular, that helped us in our transition away from the Church. Bring your favorites to talk about and recommend. Contact johnjohnlarsen@yahoo.com with questions.

Apr 26, Sat, Noon- Taylorsville CALM/YA/ NOM Lunch.
The Young Adults would like to invite the CALM community to lunch in the park. We will be meeting at the Taylorsville Park pavilion on 4700 So. and Redwood Rd. This will be a pizza party, and it's BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage). The cost will be $3.00 per person so we can order pizza. If you have any questions, please contact Amanda (Suburban Girl) coolamandy01@gmail.com or leave a comment on the YA blog at yagatherings.blogspot.com.

Apr 27, Sun, 12:30 pm- Salt Lake City Religious Transition Group,
6876 S. Highland Drive (2000 East). This group provides honest discussion and support for those questioning or feeling uncomfortable with their traditional religion. Bill Dobbs is in charge, but due to health issues, the current contact is wkrussell@fastmail.us

Apr 27, Sun, 3:00 pm*- SLC Clark Planetarium- Mummies: Secrets of the Pharoahs.
Clark Planetarium says, “April Special: All Tickets, All Shows, All Month just $5.00 Join us as we celebrate our 5th anniversary during April with this special offer.” For a listing of the movies and laser shows go here: http://www.clarkplanetarium.org/nowplaying_movies.php We will gather for the new IMAX movie about Mummies. The planetarium is at Gateway, 110 South 400 West, which has free parking on Sundays. Arrive early as the planetarium says there is no late admittance. Afterwards, we’ll eat at Biaggis. Contact dormond2@nebonet.com

*CALM has received a personal invitation from the Clark Planetarium. They would be delighted to show us around the planetarium, including an amazing new major exhibit, “Science on a Sphere”. Since the planetarium closes right after the 4:00 pm (sharp!) Mummies show, we will need to start earlier at 3:00 pm to have the tour before the show. We’d love to see a big turn-out for this special tour! And again, parking is free at Gateway on Sundays.

[PLEASE NOTE: due to this activity, the Ladies Book Club will be postponed to a later date.]

Chosen from 2,500 submissions, the 24 Pangea Day films were selected based on their ability "to inspire, transform and allow us to see the world through another person's eyes." In addition to these images and documented tales, participants will hear from visionary speakers and musicians including: Queen Noor of Jordan, CNN's Christiane Amanpour, musician/activist Bob Geldof and Iranian rock phenomenon Hypernova. For more information, go here: http://www.pangeaday.org

What does C.A.L.M. stand for?
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

Community After Leaving Mormonism (it's at the bottom of the post). CALM has been going strong for more than a year.

Hi Dr. Shades. Sorry I missed you at the exmo conference lunch last October cuz I had to leave early to register the attendees. Perhaps we'll get another chance to meet. Please tell our mutual friend Froggie hello for me.

I wouldent mind going to see Todd Compton. I just might take a trip up to see that.
