The last time I checked, sex addiction was widespread among the male population as a whole.

There are plenty of other studies that verify that married people are not generally having sex six times a week.

As for the rest of your ideologue blather: yawn.

It is only you who are blathering here Beastie. talking to yourself again.

Masturbation clearly isn't necessary in either a biological or psychological sense (and much, very much, of present post sixties beliefs regarding sexuality are just as culturally conditioned as were previous puritanical concepts of sex as a necessary evil).

Avoiding masturbation, as with other forms of sexual behavior outside the boundaries set by the Lord, are spiritual and personal disciplines and sacrifices the purpose of which is to strengthen and capacitate us for a Celestial exaltation by capacitating us to live, to the best of our ability, and within the grace of Christ, a Celestial law here.

If in Taoism, every day something unnecessary or restricting is dropped, in the Gospel, every day something is both dropped and acquired; a higher law, better way of living, a discipline, greater power, greater mastery over the self, the desires, and our mortal environment. Jesus Christ was not called The Master simply as a term of obeisance. It was literally true of him.

I want the scripture where Jesus says it's a sin to touch your pee pee!

Yeah, you can always choose to accept the higher risk of prostrate cancer.

Clue to coggins: if masturbating over five times a week reduces the risk of prostrate cancer, then obviously it is doing something beneficial.

Only a few individuals are going to get prostrate cancer in any case. According to the Prostrate Cancer Foundation, one in six American men will be diagnosed with this affliction. There are some three hundred million of us, half of which are men. This means that, of some 150 million males, one sixth, or 25,000,000 of us will eventually be diagnosed (or one sixth of whatever the population will be at any given time).

Hence, for one sixth of the population, assuming this isolated study has anything to do with reality (and is ever replicated), the study might have relevance. What about the other five sixths? Should they masturbate as well, just to be sure? It seems God only requires some 17% of men to masturbate regularly. This assumes, of course, that masturbating five times a week really has any causal connection to prostrate cancer.

And even if it did, we know that moderate drinking may lower the risk of certain kinds of circulatory disease. So? It also may not. It is also the case that eating properly, getting proper rest and adequate exercise and taking supplements such as Vitamins E, A, C, Omega-3 fatty acids, and Selenium can lower such risk as well.

And we've made sacred covenants to abstain from such substances (which happily, allows us 100% avoidance of their risks), so masturbate away, and eat, drink, and be merry in the mean time.

Are you talking to me?

Just a general request. This type of thread can easily deteriorate into silliness and innuendos. A pun now and then, ok, but I want to put the brakes on it before it gets terrestrial.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Or worse . . . Celestial (wait, that was Nehor's secret codeword for Telestial. It's all so confusing).

I respect that. I was actually pretty careful about the way I worded that last post for that exact reason. I had different language in mind in a few places. And, I also wrote a little poem for coggins that I was tempted to post here to get more traffic, but thought it was too much, so I posted it in his moved thread.

I think the main reason this kind of thread does go the way you mentioned is that many people are so uptight about this subject, and people who think that's just ridiculous tend to play it up in contrast. That's how it is for me, anyway.

Beastie, I apologize for my silliness. I'm absurd with Coggies 'cause he's absurd way too often.

I repent.

Masturbators: Wrong Again on Mormonism

Post by _Coggins7 »

Let's change the focus of this thread, shall we (say don't you notice its always the same lefties and cultural libertines who are drawn to threads about sex and masturbation. Beastie, Moniker, Schmo, B&L, Harmony (oh, and Coffecat, she really liked porn...).

Drag 20 dollars through a trailer park and who knows what you'll find...

I see 6 of your posts on page 2, Coggs. You may already be a winner.

(In other words, it's probably best to avoid silly cheap shots and merely stick with the topic (I almost said "at hand"))
