Science doesn't lead to killing others. It can provide better means to do so and do it on a larger scale though it also improves the health and longevity of the human race. That's about it though. People lead to people killing each other. Those bastards.

I find it kind of alarming what the phrase science has come to mean. How does the concept of gathering evidence through observation and experimentation and testing hypotheses kill people? Unless of course you're doing concentration camp-style science on human physiology but I don't think that is what Stein was referring to

Well, Stein links Nazi eugenics to evolution. He even states that Darwinism will lead to Social Darwinism and attempts to breed a superior race.
Stein isn't really anti-science. He is anti-evolution.
If science does kill people and he thinks ID is science then I suppose ID would kill people, as well?

Ben Stein is on a quest to outdo Richard Dawkins in demonstrating a staggering lack of sympathy for his opponents.

Well, Ben Stein should most definitely receive the Histrionic Cuckoo Nutball of the Year Award. Has anyone seen it that posts here?
I saw parts of it (I think it was it...it had Ben Stein on it and they talked about how some academics who favor ID have been silenced) and wasn't that impressed. Anyone who has studied social darwinism/eugenics knows that it is a bastardization of what Darwin was talking about.
Dawkins never even said "survival of the fittest" did he? Paraphrasing what he said was "Those who are most able to survive will survive" If I recall correctly.

Thank you. Absolutely. See, if all you have is religion, then you have bitter and angry feuds over how many arms God has, and sects ready to kill each other over it, but because all they can do is kneel in the dirt and chant absurdities, and because there really is no God, at best they might take out one or two enemies with stones.
