There is our old feminist theme again. Power.
Indeed. As a major sect of Cultural Marxism, radical feminism is really little more than a restructuring of the old Marxist idea of the Proletariat against the capitalist oppressors, with woman standing in for the oppressed Proletariat and men wearing the black hats as the capitalist swine.
Satan, it seems, keeps recycling the same ideologies and concepts over and over again, and many of us keep falling for them, over, and over, again.
The face of sin today often wears the mask of tolerance.

I do not like radical feminism. But I like reasoned and rational feminsism. Like it or not women have been supressed and even abused throughout the ages. It is only recently in human history where they really have had equal opportunities for career, political office, choices other than perhaps marriage and mother hood and so on. What is wrong with letting them have choices. Personally I believe family and home are the best choices if a couple agrees that is what works for them. But I do not believe that is should be forced, coerced or used to make someone feel that they are less faithful in the religion of their choice because of another choice.

Yeah, it is all Satan's fault.
Satan's fault that women can now go to a University.
Satan's fault that women can vote and even run for office in some countries.
Satan's fault that a man can no longer rape his wife without consequences.
Satan's fault that women can now play in a symphony, or create a piece of art.
Satan's fault that women can have a career other than prostitution.
Satan's fault that women don't have to cover their faces in some parts of the world.
Satan's fault that women can own property and possessions.
Satan's fault that women can have a book published, speak in public, become a doctor or lawyer, and make choices.
That Satan... what a bad guy!

No problem here. I just think they should be as responsible as men for making a living with what they study.
Satan's fault that women can vote and even run for office in some countries.
I have no problem with a woman as president or any other authority position as long as she is fair minded and respects the rights of men. All I really see them doing is promoting their own agenda. I honestly liked some things Hillary had to say about the oil companies, big business etc. But I think she needs to demonstrate to the other half of the population that she's not just a champion of her own gender.
Satan's fault that a man can no longer rape his wife without consequences.
Yes but a woman can rob a man's money without consequences. To me that's pretty bad as well.
Satan's fault that women can now play in a symphony, or create a piece of art.
You know it seems to me that this has been going on for a long time.
Satan's fault that women can have a career other than prostitution.
It seems to me that women are the ones choosing this career nowadays because it pays better and it's easier, not men forcing them into it.
Satan's fault that women don't have to cover their faces in some parts of the world.
Look I never liked the Moslems much either. It's the leftist that have taken their side. It never ceases to amaze me how hateful vegan feminists can wind up married to an Arabian man, and still spend her days trying to blame it on a Western man. Amazing.
Satan's fault that women can own property and possessions.
Boy do they ever! As I pointed out earlier, I think women have more property than most men. It's that women compare themselves to the richest man, and granted, the alpha male is the best position. But that's only one man.
Satan's fault that women can have a book published, speak in public, become a doctor or lawyer, and make choices.
No problem with that either. I'm talking about divorces and shameful anti male sexist family law. I'm talking about dating. I'm talking about military conscription. I'm talking about who gets promoted because the boss thinks she's hot. I'm talking about the world we live in today, not the world of the past that you're still angry about TD. You come from an older generation than I do I believe. There is a huge gap between my grandmother and my sisters. You can't tell me the pendulum doesn't currently rest in the woman's favor now.
That's the problem. Hillary still thinks that women are the underdog. They're not, and I can't support someone who is going to throw the pendulum further away from justice.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Like it or not women have been suppressed and even abused throughout the ages.
So has everybody, including men and children. The "patriarchy" is pure ideological myth.
It is only recently in human history where they really have had equal opportunities for career, political office, choices other than perhaps marriage and mother hood and so on.
And these choices will inevitably produce consequences. This is a mortal probation, not a mortal sinecure.
What is wrong with letting them have choices.
Nothing. But choices have consequences, and although we make our own choices, we cannot, thereafter, choose our consequence
Personally I believe family and home are the best choices if a couple agrees that is what works for them.
Wrong. Family and home are the core, fundamental units of civil society. Without them, there is no civil society.
But I do not believe that is should be forced, coerced or used to make someone feel that they are less faithful in the religion of their choice because of another choice.
Nothing in the Gospel is coerced or forced. You can take it,or leave it. Its the apostates, and particularly the secular ones who have moved in to the great and spacious building, who wish to impose their own template upon the rest of the Saints, not vice versa.

Ie., leftist. Let's be clear in our use of language Scratch.
In contemporary America, without an egregious redefinition of the spectrum of views on gender roles, this isn't accurate. They're progressive for LDS. For America in general, this is conventional wisdom. While "progressive" is a synonym of "leftist" when used in a certain context, it doesn't really translate here. A woman in Saudi Arabia who feels she should have the right to show her face in public might be progressive, but doesn't make it proper to call her a "leftist," especially in the since implied by your use of the term.

Nothing. Women should have all the rights that men have. But with rights, should come responsibility, and they should also have all the responsibilities that men have. As of now, they don't!

That's kind of what religion does. Look if a man has to come home and bust his tale cleaning the house and tending the family, he's not going to be able to take on a second job as bishop or other callings. The way the working world is today, even the most healthy and energetic people have enough stamina to do their jobs. We do have a lot of money in America, but we don't have much time off from work IMHO.

Ajax, what responsibilities do women not have that men shoulder?

Then you'd better let your ideas be known in the upper room of the SLC temple. Because those men think it's okay for women to get a degree, but they're no supposed to use it (unless their husbands is dead or disabled).

You're equating rape to theft? Or rape to a divorce settlement? Or rape to anything having to do with money?
Good grief.
Satan's fault that women can now play in a symphony, or create a piece of art.

Define "long". Because TD is speaking historically... like a few thousands years ago, when women were mostly slaves.
Satan's fault that women can have a career other than prostitution.
It seems to me that women are the ones choosing this career nowadays because it pays better and it's easier, not men forcing them into it.
That's the point, Ajax. Now because of Satan's influence, women can choose a career other than prostitution! What a concept! Career choices! Wow.
Satan's fault that women don't have to cover their faces in some parts of the world.

Money again. And please prove that women have more property than most men. Because what I'm seeing is more women, single moms mostly, living in abject poverty. So... CFR.
Satan's fault that women can have a book published, speak in public, become a doctor or lawyer, and make choices.

Yes, we know this is your hot button. We know you got screwed.
I'm talking about dating.
What about it?
I'm talking about military conscription.
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but no one gets drafted now in this country. And in Isreal, both genders are drafted.
I'm talking about who gets promoted because the boss thinks she's hot.
Except when he's a she and she's a he. Works both ways. And it's just as irritating to the more competent-but-older-less-attractive women as it is to the men.
I'm talking about the world we live in today, not the world of the past that you're still angry about TD.
Then why did you comment? She's talking historically, that women have been oppressed for literally thousands of years, and you're here complaining because it wasn't long enough?
You come from an older generation than I do I believe. There is a huge gap between my grandmother and my sisters. You can't tell me the pendulum doesn't currently rest in the woman's favor now.
It doesn't, except in your own world. Now you know what it's been like for women for all these generations. How do you like feeling powerless? Sucks, doesn't it?
That's the problem. Hillary still thinks that women are the underdog. They're not, and I can't support someone who is going to throw the pendulum further away from justice.
CFR.
