The longer I'm around Mormon apologetics, the more convinced I become that some of these apologists are being knowingly deceptive. These are intelligent people, and there's no way they could be THIS incompetent. I think they rationalize their misleading maneuvers by assuring themselves that since the church really IS true, one day "real" evidence will be found, and in the meantime, it's ok to bolster the faith of the flock.

Funny, the longer I debate apostates from the Church the more I become convinced that fools can be knaves and knaves can be fools. Indeed, knowing deception, being a standard feature of EV apologetics, is in its secularist version, amplified by fevered leftists to Toho proportions.
