I enjoyed F&T yesterday. It was good, I agree some people talk shengus about their own doctrinal beliefs that just don't make sense, like a women in my ward back home believes we choose when we die and talked about this once.

Asb, I wouldn't read too much into it or worry about it. People don't often appreciate what others suffer, to her, she felt God helped her out. That's good for her. I have felt as though I walked through a person before, this person was real, not a ghost. It is most likely that my sense of perception at that time made me feel, see and sense in everyway walking through this person. The other person never felt it. Just how I saw it.

ETA; There was a lot of talk about death and babies at F&T meeting yesterday. LOTS. And people seemed to be thanking and expressing love for others more that sharing gospel beliefs.

Interesting how the tornado that touched down in SLC a few years ago wasn't a warning to the Saints to clean up their act. It was just scary.

Actually, I was in a meeting where it was pointed out that it might be exactly that.

I'm happy for her and her daughter. I just don't belive that God won't ever let one person's children die because of what that implies for those whose children he lets die even when they aren't ready for it. Some people do terrible things after a tragedy like that. Is this woman really less able to handle it than they were?

I started to get upset how many times I heard (even MIL and family) that Katrina was God wiping out sinners. I'm so glad GBH straightened everyone out on that one or I'd still be hearing it.

And you are right, she most likey used the wrong words and did not think about what she was saying, she may not appreciate that other people are just as real as her. No, God would not prevent a death in respect that the family was not ready or unable to handle it. God would prevent one dying if it were not their time, or if there was a lesson to be learnt from almost dying. Or so I believe.

Wow, what a difference a comma can make.

My brother's bishop said the exact opposite. He said the tsunami was God's way of baptizing the people Himself.

In that case I'd rather that God sprinkle water on me than baptize me.
