Abman -

Two things:

1 - seth didn't say it happens EVERY time. You must admit it is very common.

2- you're having to reach mighty far back in history to find examples. When you reach that far back, it's unlikely that even if Jesus and Buddha were accessing females that we'd know about it. The 'historical' records we have are largely faith promoting stories told many decades after the fact.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

This just puts the Warren Jeffs and David Koresh types of the world on the same level as Joseph Smith. It's just plain pathetic for them to stoop so low.
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably.

Most LDS prophets have not done this. I'm not even sure that most prophets elsewhere do it. I think, rather, we end up hearing more about the ones who do and that skews our perspective. Nobody cares about the nutjob prophet who preaches sermons to the flowers but otherwise doesn't do anything. We only hear about the ones who do interesting things like get laid more often than a rock star.

Seth wasn't talking about a prophet or leader of an established, mature religion. Look again at what he said:

Yet again we see an example of a charismatic religious movement founder who tells his flock that God has commanded him to have sex with his followers, and they willingly give it up to him.

No, because then he'd have to kill them.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

And, if some non-official-yet-high-ranking past LDS apostles and whatnot are to be believed, Jesus was in fact having sex with multiple of his followers, in the form of a polygamous marriage between him and, I guess, Mary and Martha, and possibly others. Talk about "projecting". Sheesh.

Why? Must one believe in the Old Testament to claim prophethood? Or are you saying that even though people will give teenage daughters to heterosexual prophets there is no way they'd give themselves over to a gay prophet to be used? I think you underestimate the faith of believers.

So nix the modern LDS prophets. I still think that most religious movements never get very far in the first place and that most of those we won't hear about because they don't have any interesting tidbits.

The whole point of my post is to help further illustrate just how common this is. It's not an effective defense for you to assert that not every single person in the world who proclaims himself a prophet ends up shagging his followers. Quite a few of them do. It's enough to clearly form a pattern that can be recognized. Religious alpha-male, self-proclaimed "Prophets" often end up in bed with their followers. This guy did it. David Koresh did it. Quite a few others throughout history have done it. And Joseph Smith did it.

Quite a few teachers abuse their students and there are even some clearly formed patterns about how they escape and go to another school to continue abuse. I just don't think most teachers are pedaphiles. I think most teachers are wonder people (yes, most male teachers too).
