More fun with the boys and girls of Mormon.org chat!

Post by _Boaz & Lidia »

Wow, tonight I binge chatted.

Four different sessions.

The first three were a basic repeat of the last one.

They denied smith marriage to a 14 year old.

Yes, I sent the familysearch.org link.

Yes they fell silent, one had a testimony that it did not matter because he was a prophet...

The other two just hung up.

The last one I acted like a very eager investigator who was told by the local elders to go online and have the online dorks help me pray.

Here is the transcript from that:

Jim: Hello, how are you?
Joe: hi Jim
Jim: How may I help you?
Joe: hi the missionaries have been seeing me
Jim: Ok, how is that going?
Joe: we have been having a good visit for a while
Joe: we tried praying last night with me going
Joe: I was too embaraaassed and they said to try this chat site
Jim: Ok.
Jim: That is good, how do you feel when you speak with them.
Joe: I like them alot
Joe: they have had some of the lady missionaries over too
Jim: Ok, how do you feel though? Inside?
Joe: my room mate is skeptical but I feel good and excited
Jim: That is good!
Jim: Keep going with that, those feelings you are having are the spirit telling you that this is something good.
Joe: oh yes we were talking about that the spirit feeling
Joe: last night just before I tried to say a prayer
Joe: but I was too scared
Joe: i have never done that
Joe: so i am nevous
Jim: Have you prayered pby yourself yet?
Joe: i tried just before i came down to the library
Joe: i use the city library to get on the internet
Jim: Ok, how did you feel as you prayed?
Joe: my heart was pounding when i was trying
Joe: because i felt scared i guess
Jim: Yeah, have you been able to read a little from the Book of Mormon?
Joe: oh yes
Joe: as much as I can
Joe: i have adult ADD
Joe: I read five verse then think aobut them
Jim: Ok that's good, have you read alot?
Joe: the elder missionaries read out loud wtih me
Joe: we read some morroni stuff yesterday
Joe: about the great promese of the spirit
Jim: Ok that's good, have you prayed to know if the Book of MOmron is true?
Joe: i mean promise
Joe: that is why they told me to come here tonight
Joe: they said you online elders would help me and that i could just pray insdide my mind
Joe: with you
Jim: Ok, well what you can do is go kneel by your bed and start a prayer.
Joe: heh i am in the city library in Santa Cruz CA
Joe: there are a few people left
Joe: on wednesdys they keep it open til 11pm
Jim: Oh i forgot about that.
Jim: Ok, well then yes you may just pray right there.
Jim: Just start by talking to Heavenly Father.
Joe: ok! that's what my elders said yesterday
Joe: neat!
Jim: Tell him how you feel about the missionaries coming over and that you are excited.
Jim: Tell him you want to know if the Book of Mormon is true, because if it is it will mean so much.
Joe: can i type it out and then read it?
Jim: Joe, I know you can do it.
Jim: Just tell him what you ahve talked to me about.
Joe: ok
Jim: You can have a conversation with Him.
Jim: But afte ryou do you need to wait and listne for an answer.
Jim: Pay attention to your feelings.
Jim: you may feel that happiness and excitedment again.
Joe: dear Jesus i am praying to you to ask you a personal question,
Jim: You don't need to type it out.
Joe: please tell me if the elders are th
Joe: oh ok
Jim: Pray to Heavenly Father Joe.
Jim: but pray to Him in the name of Jesus Christ.
Joe: oops that's right
Joe: i rmeember that
Joe: remember
Joe: ok here I go
Joe: oh i don't know how i should say things
Joe: can you type it and I will whisper it
Jim: Ok.
Joe: ready when you are Jim.
Joe: Elder Jim?
Joe: :)
Jim: Joe it has to be your words.
Jim: You need to talk to him, its your prayer not mine.
Joe: ok I will just ask him the one question about the book like what you said
Joe: is that ok?
Joe: Jim?
Joe: am i allowed to ask just that?
Joe: I only have 5 minutes
Joe: befrore they close
Joe: Jim??
Joe: hello elder Jim?

I wonder if Jim enjoyed that as much as I did?

One thing I noticed is when you act like a total sucker ready to be baptized, they respond to you QUICKLY! ..well except at the end... I guess Casper the holy ghost outted me to him... damnit!

I imagine most of their other crank callers are spouting scriptures at them.

The sign said "Thinkers need not apply"

They only want to talk about reading the Book of Mormon, Joe being a mighty prophet, and praying about those two things..

I love it when you started typing out your prayer - "dear Jesus..."

That was pretty classic PP. ;-)
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
