I was trying to say that my take on events is that I think the flood was natural and that God merely decided not to stop it. I don't but the Old Testament's take on things otherwise I'd have to buy God commanding genocide.

Again, I have no problem with natural death which God decides not to prevent.
When you are all powerful, the distiniction between active and passive killing seems nil.

when believers want to give their claims more weight, they dress these claims up in scientific terms. When believers want to belittle atheism or secular humanism, they call it a "religion". -Beastie

Yes, I'm well aware of the story of cops 1 - 7 or whatever. I have toyed with the idea that God isn't all-powerful. That is if God kept saving babies that He would cease to be God. Why? I dunno. Personally I think that while life is very important, I think there are things that are more important than life. While I think the afterlife is one such thing, I think of other qualities for my fellow man such as liberty, health, etc. Perhaps then God can't prevent every death or we would necessarily suffer in some other way.

If God is all-powerful and all-knowing (and in some Christian genres He's omni-Present) He is responsible for everything in this Universe. His hand is behind everthing that happens, to include baby killing and abortions. It has to be that way.
So, God murders babies and creates people like Charles Manson (and Ahmadinejad, Hitler, and the Aztecs).

Yes, you would, wouldn't you?

Kinda makes you think, doesn't it?
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
