I think BCSpace throws out this CFR as a kind of "argument from failure of your opponent to meet one of your demands". That is, he knows full well that it's virtually impossible that Joseph Smith didn't boink at least a few women besides Emma, so rather than try to argue that, he simply challenges you to come up with proof that he did. If you can't cough up the evidence, he smugly acts as if he's won. But he still knows, in his heart of hearts, that Joseph Smith "knew", in the Biblical sense, more than just Emma. And the number of his "aquaintances" was probably in the dozens.
I think the number of LDS apologists who actually believe that Joseph Smith had sexual intercourse only with Emma, and all his other marriages were just platonic for-eternity-only sealings, is very small. And yet they still dispute that there's proof that Joseph was having sex with any of these fake wives, as if that somehow helped.

Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

Religious alpha-male, self-proclaimed "Prophets" often end up in bed with their followers. This guy did it. David Koresh did it. Quite a few others throughout history have done it. And Joseph Smith did it.
Quite a few teachers abuse their students and there are even some clearly formed patterns about how they escape and go to another school to continue abuse. I just don't think most teachers are pedaphiles. I think most teachers are wonder people (yes, most male teachers too).
This would work if you believed there was one true teacher.

I watched the National Geographic documentary this weekend. It was fascinating. I really felt like I could have been watching early LDS and Joseph Smith. It was clear these people were TRUE BELIEVERS, and really believed GOD wanted these young women to lay naked with "Michael", and even have sex with him. The young women talking about their experiences could have been bearing their shining testimonies at a Mormon church.
The most painful part of the show was watching Michael's real son, also a True Believer, and his wife talk about how his wife (In other words, Michael's daughter in law) was led by the Lord to consummate with Michael, too. It's not about sex, they say. They know it just sounds like "an affair", but it isn't, they say. This was God's command, and it was like joining God. Michael's son explained that he struggled with it, but eventually accepted it in faith. At one moment in the interview, when Michael was talking about his sanctified sex with his daughter-in-law, the camera showed his son turning his face into the corner, and pain was written all over it. But then he composed himself and expressed faith. It was heart breaking.
The whole time we were saying, how could these people believe this stuff???? How could they??? How could they?
by the way, here's a book I intend to get soon, that may help explain how:

Most of us probably believe that the human brain is a highly efficient, nearly perfect supercomputer. NYU psychology professor Gary Marcus shatters this popular notion with his provocative and eminently readable book Kluge: The Haphazard Construction of the Human Mind. In it he argues that the mind isn’t a well-run mission-control center but a complex mishmash of synapses that’s basically held together by the cerebral equivalent of duct tape and spit. The book’s title is engineering slang for a clumsy or inelegant solution to a problem (think MacGyver); that’s what Marcus argues the human mind is.
In witty, easy-to-digest prose, Marcus lays out his theory that our mind often fails us (e.g., eyewitness testimony is usually erroneous; we want to diet but instead satiate our immediate desires) and is subject to irrational emotions, moods, and desires.
Happily, this book doesn’t take too long to read — perfect for our poor, frazzled minds.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

The National Geographic special is being replayed Wednesday night.
To get a glimpse of the program...

It is a must see, for anyone interested in the phenomenon of belief, how people become True Believers, why sexual exploitation is often a part of a cult leader's revelations, and how people can believe cult leaders.

And yet ANOTHER prophet whom God commanded to sexually abuse girls and women.
Wow!

Of course Joseph Smith saw a real angel with a flaming sword who commanded him to sexually use girls and women... all the other prophets are lying.

Con-men don't give their life for the con. If it were just about sex he would have continued west and not come back accross the Mississippi to his death.

First, he certainly wanted to keep going west, but was shamed into returning by family and friends.
Second: David Koresh. Jim Jones. Joseph Di Mambro... just off the top of my head.
