Does Guatemala have horses and elephants and chariots.
Does an LGT prohibit the entire hemisphere from being subject to the same blessing/prophecies? Are the seed of the Lamanites limited to an LGT? Last I checked, there was no land bridge between this hemisphere and Asia during the time period in question.
Okay, here is an alternative: The Book of Mormon action took place in Asia during the previous interglaciation, when tribes of proto-jews migrated to this area. Later on during our current period of interglaciation, their descendants migrated to the New World along with the plates, and left them in the Hill Cumorah.

If this timeline held true, perhaps the people of Lehi were Neanderthals and that the rebellious Lamanites were cursed with being Homo Sapiens.
The Book of Mormon actually took place in the hollowed out center of the earth where the 10 tribes currently reside. There is only one hill Cumorah, but it has two sides, the hill on our side and the hill on their side. When Moroni buried the plates, he put them in the ground on that side and Joseph fetched them out this side.

Specifically, North America or the United States of America.
I mean, if you have actually read the book it doesn't mince too many words - only anxious Mormon scholars do.
As I recall, Columbus never quite made it to central/south america and no other place in this hemisphere has had a war for freedom against white people and defeated them.
22 And behold, this people will I establish in this land, unto the fulfilling of the covenant which I made with your father Jacob; and it shall be a New Jerusalem. And the powers of heaven shall be in the midst of this people; yea, even I will be in the midst of you.

21 And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.
I advocate the ETGT (Extra-Terrestrial Geography Theory) for the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is a real history of events that took place in a parallel universe on a planet much like our own.
