Naw...Hold on...Do not even disparage the quality of life in Utah.
It's a great State to live. Mormons think they own it but ants & worms think they they own my house too.

You keep the Mormons and the Mountain West (I've lived in the West). I'll keep my Southern comfort. Anyone want some cold ice tea? :)

aw come on. you can't hate the many mountains, some are even the cool tall, jagged, and dangerous ones. Plus there are these Utah Truffles which come in several different flavors lol.

I'll give you the mountains (which I can visit!) but what are Utah Truffles? Some sort of mushroom?

He had had some very life threatening and harrowing experiences in his mission among the Bible Belt Christians and once was heard saying something about killing them all and then baptising for the dead as the only way they could save these Bible thumpers.

Well as I have been watching the disasters pummelling our country I noticed an imbalanced amount of the disasters were in this area. I wonder if the Lord is trying to tell them something. wink.gif

(The thread in question is entitled, "Bible Belt Getting Belted--pelted--drowned--etc.) Some here will no doubt recall the public shaming of David Bokovoy for similar insensitive comments.

Hammer is a bit extreme and nuts. I think he represents few TBMs.

Hammer is extreme and nuts because we are using a modern, and to large extent secular, understanding of reasonableness. From a scriptural point of view, he's perfectly reasonable. After all, God has a long history of using the natural elements, and other means, to punish his wayward children. If Jesus in the Book of Mormon can destroy numerous cities, and all the residents therein, via fire, flood, and earthquake for their wickedness (disbelief), why is it so unreasonable that he punish people today for similar reasons and through similar means?

I love how people today (not necessarily you Jason) call people like Hammer nuts and then go to Church and read the Old Testament and Book of Mormon (and all the atrocities therein committed by God or his servants in his name) and think it perfectly reasonable.
God . . . "who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, . . . and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him ..."
