Religious idiots... shut up
You got your beliefs... so does the Taliban. The Taliban thinks they're right. The Hasidic Jews think they're right. Mormon's think they're right. Christians think they're right. All you idiots can't be right. One of you can't be right. You are all wrong.
All religions, I don't care what you are, just focus on brainwashing your kids. Leave the rest of us alone.

Can I still troll here if I keep my idiotic mouth shut? Or, would you prefer that I leave the board completely? As an object of your hatred, I'm guessing the latter.
Seems sort of antithetical to the ethos of an open Mormon discussion forum to demand (and attempt to incite others to demand) that believers in Mormonism "just shut up."
But, hey, it's your board, not mine.
Chris
Apparently I wasn't clear in my post, but my thoughts were directed towards the religious idiots who can't keep their beliefs to themselves and expect us to respect them for believing in childish fairy tales.
I don't "expect" you to respect me for believing or disbelieving in "childish fairy tales," or for anything else, for that matter. I don't know you, despite the extended discussion here of Professor Peterson's "tattle-mail" (thanks for that one, Juliann), and you don't know me. While I do respect some folks on this forum, it is not on the basis of their beliefs or worldview, but on the basis of their ability to articulate their thoughts in thought-provoking ways.
I was not talking about this forum.
Well, you posted your thoughts here on this forum, so you'll perhaps forgive me for assuming that at least some who participate on this forum were in your sights. Seriously.
And I didn't single out Mormons.
Granted. I'm a never-Mo. I caught your drift.
As you should know, people who post on discussion boards are not demonstrative of the majority of the religious idiots out there. See this from Dr. Shades: http://www.mormoninformation.com/imvscm.htm
Most of my religious friends have probably never posted on an MB. They're not idiots. Or, if they are, I hope I can at least be counted as approaching, in some way, their level of religious idiocy, 'cause I do know them and do respect them, for reasons different than those that inspire my respect of varied MB participants.

It's coming. Any second now. Believe me, it's coming in your lifetime. Just like your dad, and his dad, and his dad thought.
In your life time. In your life time. In your lifetime. Quit your job. Grab a lawn chair. Don't even grab a coat.
I hold no belief in a "rapture." But, indeed, my dad does--you got me there.
As I don't hold the belief you've ascribed to me, I really can't act on it. I do hate my job, however. But, as tempting as an apocalyptic yurt in the mountains might sound, I have bills that need paying.

Which has nothing to do with this particular board or with me, I'm sure. Or, even if you wanted me to take it personally, I'm just having a hard time doing so, Goodk. I'll try, though, if you wish. I don't mind your rant in the least. It might be good for the soul, at some level. Don't quote me on that.
But, I'm having a hard time correlating your replacement of theistic filth with your own hateful bile.

Is increased hatred to those whose worldviews conflict with yours concomitant with rational, moderate thinking?
In other words, if I aspired to be an atheist/agnostic, would that mean that I would need to come to a place where I actually hate theists?
Is hatred for a large proportion of humanity requisite to being an enlightened, rational, moderate non-theist?
I think you're developing your own small, and thankfully inconsequential, jihadist mindset. In the place of hatred and slurs ("infidel!") against non-Muslims, you'd substitute hatred and slurs ("idiot!") against theists.

Meh. I don't hate you, chief. I think we'd get along just fine over a fine dinner.

Are we really better off with Kevorkian in jail? Is America a safer place without him on the streets? I don't see any reason for him to be in jail.
Ya, I'm surprised at Guy's response on this. In some instances it is torture the way an individual ends up slowly dying in their last day or years even. And if it is their choice for suicide and they are mentally with it, who is anyone else to prevent that, or prevent assisted suicide. No I don't think Kevorkian is a sick bastard.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not opposed to assisted suicide, per se. It is my opinion, however, that Kevorkian is something akin to a serial killer whose victim of choice is the terminally ill. I think he is masking a sick delight in killing with the altruistic veneer of putting terminally ill persons out of their misery.
God . . . "who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, . . . and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him ..."

Are you joking? I hope so.
I know BC is very conservative, but I think he is joking. Otherwise it would be as offensive as
if someone had said that atheistic or religious idiots should shut up.
I say this as a liberal LDS Democrat who may or may not be an idiot, but nevertheless refuses to shut up.

How did he help in that murder ( is assisted suicide not the right term in this case ) ?
