So you wouldn't mind if you had a 10 or 11 year old daughter who started having sex with a 13 or 14 year old boy? Would you be inviting him over for play dates?

Controlling your kids is way different than controlling other people or other people's kids.

I get it. HIS mom will be inviting your daughter over for play dates without your knowledge. I wouldn't let it bother you. He's got a condom.

(just threw up in mouth)

Is that a new fettish to replace homosexuality?

The fact is exposure to condoms can prompt sexual acitivity the same way the first time someone is given a gun will likely be the first time they shoot a gun. Condoms only have one purpose. And it has nothing to do with party balloons. Handing them out to teenagers at school is irresponsible. I don't want my government engaged in sexual encouragement of my kids.

The argument "but they are going to do it anyway" is not a valid argument. The fact is, teenagers can buy condoms at any gas station for a dollar. If they aren't responsible enough to use a purchased condom, then they aren't likely to be responsible enough to use one given to them.

No Kevin, it is a response, more like a reflex I suppose, to the thought your statement invoked. The idea of any woman having the unfortunate experience of viewing you naked and what kind of trickery you may have performed to convince that poor lady to have sex with you has cost me my Del Classic Burrito.

This is stupid in so many ways... let's have teenage parents instead of handing out condoms to them. Is anyone starting to see why I am tired of all the respect we are supposed to show to these idiots?

Since when do condoms cost a dollar? The last time you purchased condoms must have been the 70's...

Thanks for further helping to prove my point. Religious idiots can't keep their crappy beliefs to themselves. They must smear it on anyone and everyone. BC would rather make condoms illegal than deal with his own child.

Those idiots are undoubtedly your future kids since you don't respect them enough to raise them properly and make sure they are educated on the matter. Instead, you prefer to let the government take care of them! Yea, you've got some innovative answers to serious problems right? No, you're part of the problem, not the solution.

Well, if you gave a damn about your own kids you would be a parent to them and not expect the government to do your work for you. The fact that you would want the government doing any of this speak volumes about yoru own sense of responsibility as a parent. What a lazy ass. At the very least, if you truly believed your own BS, then you would buy the condoms for them. To say the teenage pregnancy problem can be solved by exposing them to condoms is the epitome of idiotic thinking. Kids know what condoms are. They aren't entirely stupid. If they don't use them it is because they prefer not to. It isn't because their teacher forgot to give them a supply.

I told her I was gay. It worked out well.

In my experience it is just the opposite. The lifestyle and beliefs of religious theists are discouraged and even outlawed in the public arena, whereas the culture and beliefs of the tiny minority of homosexuals is encouraged and tolerated beyond belief. At work I can call the resident Bible-thumper a whacko Jesus freak, and everyone would laugh. But the lesbian in the next cubicle can gloat about her sexual conquests for the week and nobody would dare ask her to keep it down, for fear of being fired for discirmination.

As far as religious idiots go, you and mercury do a great job of making them look less and less idiotic.

Kids today are going crazy over this kind of stuff. They are beating the s*** out of each other and their teachers and posting the footage on myspace! The whole idea behind this particular show apparently, is for a dozen men and women to compete with one another to see who can have sex with this bisexual tatoo sporting asian girl. She looks disgusting to me, but everyone treats her like she is some kind of sexual goddess. During the show everyone is trying to lure her into a backroom and make out with her. And she has to decide who she likes the most, based on "personality"? I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry while watching this. At the end of each show she has to "eliminate" some of the contestants from the competition and losers get all emotional and even break out in fits of rage.

This is the s*** our kids are watching religiously today.

Well, not mine if I have anything to say about it.

Right, so you watched the show until the end?

I watched because I kept thinking this was some kind of joke. But it turned out to be a real show. None of this crap would have been allowed on MTV when I was a kid. We might as well start making pornography legal for cable. The gap is closing rapidly.

The show encouraged bisexuality. Kids want to be cool and what's cool is what they see on MTV or BET. So if I let my kids go to public school in Atlanta, there will be nothing I can do to shelter them from the "thug culture" influences that dominate today's society.

I don't want any future kids, and so far I've been successful in not knocking anyone up.

But if I did have a teenage son I would tell my son to use protection when he is ready to have sex. I would respect him enough to tell him the truth instead of lying to him about a pie in the sky fairy tale.

Seems a lot less idiotic and more respectful than telling him a guy with a beard and sandals will punish him for using his weiner too soon.

What does that have to do with condoms costing a dollar? You said condoms cost a dollar at the gas station. This is telling of the last time you
used one. Or the last time you've been in a gas station.

Sorry partner, but you can't turn this around on me.

The fact that you would want the government to do anything about kids getting birth control, kids getting condoms (as in prevent them from being given out for free) speaks volumes about your insecurity. You are insecure in a world that allows people to make their own choices regarding morality. Instead of confining your stupid beliefs to your own home, and brainwashing your kid so she can hate you later, you would rather make it harder for kids to get birth control.

You also don't like the idea of homosexuality. 16 year-olds who choose to have sex while responsibly using birth control and females that want to marry other females have nothing to do with you.

Yet you can't help but try and take those choices away from them.

dartagnan wrote: At the very least, if you truly believed your own b. s., then you would buy the condoms for them.

You are right about that, I would. Of course I don't know if truly believe my own b.s. I'll have to get back to you on that.

I told her I was gay. It worked out well.

You know what they say about homophobes...

You really want us to feel bad for you about what Mercury said. I think you play the victim all too well. Get over it.

Right. It's TV's fault.

Ever wonder why the religious idiots get so upset about programs on TV (instead of simply changing the channel)? Does it have anything to do with what I said earlier?

I'm beginning to wonder about Kevin. I mean, with all the homophobic comments and now he is admitting to watching a whole hour of A Shot of Love 2 with Tila Tequila ;)

Thank God for that.

You guys sound like idiots the way you always pull out this straw man. You have no case to be made for the government encouraging sexual activity. Bashing fundamentalist religious belief isn't going to get you anywhere since it has nothing to do with it.
What does that have to do with condoms costing a dollar? You said condoms cost a dollar at the gas station. This is telling of the last time you used one. Or the last time you've been in a gas station.

I have been out of the country 4 years, but it wasn't the "70's" when condoms were a dollar. You can still get them for a dollar when you buy them in packages. Besides, there are still codom machines in some places that probably sell one for less than that.
The fact that you would want the government to do anything about kids getting birth control

I don't want that you idiot. When are you going to start paying attention?
kids getting condoms (as in prevent them from being given out for free) speaks volumes about your insecurity.

Yea, that made a lot of sense. My insecurity!
You are insecure in a world that allows people to make their own choices regarding morality. Instead of confining your stupid beliefs to your own home, and brainwashing your kid so she can hate you later, you would rather make it harder for kids to get birth control.

You're an idiot. You have no clue what my "beliefs" are. You think I am a fundamentalist Christian because you need that straw man. You rely on it. But sorry, you're going to have to argue your point on its own merits. No freebies here. No straw men.
You also don't like the idea of homosexuals getting married.

Earth to moron, for the fourth time now, I do not care if homosexuals get married. More power to them. All they are doing is legitimizing a religious concept.
16 year-olds who choose to have sex while responsibly using birth control and females that want to marry other females have nothing to do with you.

Sixteen year olds who choose to have sex are not being responsible, no matter what then wrap around their penis.
Yet you can't help but try and take those choices away from them.

Take their choice away from them? What the “F” are you talking about? Are you so stupid that you cannot tell the difference between 1) viewing something as irresponsible and 2)demanding that the government take away their rights to do it? When in the hell have I ever endorsed the latter?
Again, keep up the counterproductivity. You make people want to run back to fundamentalist religion if this is the kind of idiot they can expect to become after leaving it.
You know what they say about homophobes...

That is a sex-baiting term used by people who can't make intelliectual arguments. It is the equivalent of Islamaphobe and racist.
Right. It's TV's fault.

No, it is our culture of liberalism. Anything goes.
Ever wonder why the religious idiots get so upset about programs on TV (instead of simply changing the channel)?

Because they actually give a crap about teh development of their teenage kids. Who else could they be worried about... themselves? I'm a 38 year old man, and I don't get offended by anything on TV. But the idea of my KIDS watching it scares the crap out of me. They are only ages 3 and 1, but I can only imagine what will be on TV when they are 14 and 12. You cannot relate because you don't have kids, nor do you plan on having any.
