Thanks to your teacher handing out condoms, right?

Wrong, thanks to female birth control.

You guys sound like idiots the way you always pull out this straw man.

Coming from the author of this beau ideal of intelligence:

dartagnan wrote:Having to clean out your rectum with a water hose before you have sex. How does adaptation expect to address that one? If homosexuals were really "born that way," then what is evolution telling us? Maybe homosexual men will eventually evolve with two assholes? One for excretion and the other for pleasure

dartagnan wrote:You have no case to be made for the government encouraging sexual activity.

You have no case to be made that the government is encouraging sexual activity.

This is your case:

dartagnan wrote:It is a long story to be sure, but suffice it to say that I am living proof that exposure to condoms can in fact promote sexual activity.

(dry heaving)

Kevin says condoms promote sexual activity. Why is that Kevin? Expound on why condoms promote sexual activity, oh great Sage of wisdom.

dartagnan wrote:Bashing fundamentalist religious belief isn't going to get you anywhere since it has nothing to do with it.

It has everything to do with it. You right to life idiots don't care about life, you care about sex without consequences. Sex on different terms than what your fairy tale teaches. It's not just religious fundamentalists. It's all of you religious idiots.

dartagnan wrote:You're an idiot. You have no clue what my "beliefs" are. You think I am a fundamentalist Christian because you need that straw man.

No i don't think you are a fundamentalist Christian, idiot. I don't care how "fundamental" you want to be with your religion. You can call yourself a moderate Christian, a liberal Christian, I could not care less.

The important thing is you are a Christian who can't shut up about your stupid fairy tale. That is what I think, sir.

(by the way, I think I have a clue about your beliefs. I've been to tektonic.org)

dartagnan wrote:Earth to moron, for the fourth time now, I do not care if homosexuals get married. More power to them. All they are doing is legitimizing a religious concept.

You sure are having a hard time conveying yourself properly today, if so many people are misreading you.
Odd how you say gay marriage legitimizes a religious concept. I must be misreading you again.

dartagnan wrote:Take their choice away from them? What the f*** are you talking about?

Unhinged, are we?

dartagnan wrote:Are you so stupid that you cannot tell the difference between 1) viewing something as irresponsible and 2)demanding that the government take away their rights to do it?

Are you so stupid that you cannot remember making this statement:

dartagnan wrote:I don't want my government engaged in sexual encouragement of my kids.

dartagnan wrote:
Right. It's TV's fault.

No, it is our culture of liberalism. Anything goes.

Rush Limbaugh's show is on this late in the afternoon? This all makes sense now, Coggins has hacked Kevin's account!

dartagnan wrote:
Ever wonder why the religious idiots get so upset about programs on TV (instead of simply changing the channel)?

Because they actually give a s*** about the development of their teenage kids.

No they don't give a s*** about their teenage kids. If they did, they would focus their energy on getting them to obey their rules, rather than trying to censor television.
They do give a s*** about imposing their fairy tales on everyone else.
They simply refuse to shut up about their stupid religion.

Like I said - hey religious idiots, just focus on brainwashing your kids. Leave the rest of us alone.

How much does sex cost us, Jersey Girl? I don't recall getting a bill for any teenage sexual relationships. I think pregnancy costs more than safe sex, but I'm no social worker.

I was still a little uneasy about employing the word idiot with so many nice "believers" here (looking at you Liz, Richard, Jersey Girl) but after reading the contributions from BC, Dart, and the bigots over at MAD regarding gay marriage, I wish there was a stronger way to say what I said in my OP.

There are times when I really feel like venting about believers, too. In fact, I think that is part of the reason I participate on boards like this - it's the only time I feel free to express my criticisms of religious belief. In real life, I would offend and hurt too many people that I have no wish to hurt or offend. Whereas if people deliberately come to a board like this, I figure they actually want to hear criticisms and can handle it. I do think GoodK went too far in his venting into exaggeration and hyperbole. But sometimes that is part of what venting is about.

It is true that, particularly in the US, religion has a dramatic impact on our culture and politics. There is no denying this. To top that off, I live in a part of the US that is absolutely saturated with conservative Christians. And yes, I think some of their influence is detrimental to our country. I have been rereading Sam Harris' End of Faith (due to a past conversation with tal) and read that Ronald Reagan actually invited evangelicals like Jerry Falwell and Hal Lindsay to national security meetings. I strongly believe conservative EVs like George Bush are heavily influenced in their foreign policy by the idea of an impending Second Coming. I find that deeply, deeply disturbing, and fear a fulfilled prophecy regarding Armageddon.

And aside from the national impact of our uber-religious society, I get religious spam from friends and colleagues a lot. I don't feel free to tell them to STOP IT, because I would hurt their feelings and offend them. My boyfriend actually finally did tell a friend to cut it out, after receiving one too many of these 'meet my best friend' attached to a picture of Jesus, and that friend was predictably hurt and offended. Our society enshrines religious belief and makes it taboo to criticize it. It does get very irritating. I can relate to GoodK's need to "pop" about it now and then, although, as I said, I think he did exaggerate and engage in hyperbole. I know many people who were brought up by believing parents and they really don't hate their parents, for example. And the believers I know in real life are good and decent people. They've just bought into what I view as a nearly universal sort of delusion. And yes, I know using the word "delusion" will rile people up, but imagine that you were suddenly plopped on an alien planet who all worshiped a large, invisible toad who tenderly holds their planet in his toe-pads.. Now your technology is such that you would certainly be able to detect such a toad, and you know, as surely as it is possible to "know" something of this sort, that there really is no invisible toad holding their planet. But no matter how you reason with them, no matter what evidence you show them, they find some way to mentally twist and turn enough to not only justify their continued belief in the Holy Toad, but to also treat you as a moral reprobate and suspicious character for daring to suggest otherwise. Wouldn't you call it a mass delusion of sorts? And now can you imagine living in a society in which the mandates of the Holy Toad had a real, serious impact on your society and life? Wouldn't you want to vent now and then?

Right, so you watched the show until the end?

I watched because I kept thinking this was some kind of joke. But it turned out to be a real show. None of this s*** would have been allowed on MTV when I was a kid. We might as well start making pornography legal for cable. The gap is closing rapidly.

The show encouraged bisexuality. Kids want to be cool and what's cool is what they see on MTV or BET. So if I let my kids go to public school in Atlanta, there will be nothing I can do to shelter them from the "thug culture" influences that dominate today's society.

Lol, reminds me of "Gay, Straight or Taken"... Oddest show I have ever seen, but if the person chooses the straight one (or the one that has their sexuality), they get to go on a holiday together, but if the others are chosen, they get to go on holiday with their own partner.

You right wing, right to life idiots. You don't care about life. You guys are the first to send a guy to the electric chair.

I'm tired of you idiots trying to high jack the government and set policy. You idiots just want to control people with your stupid fairy tales.
It's not up to you guys with your fairy tales about some pie in the sky guy in sandals.
What do you care if we are sinning?
We are sinning, fine.
Your imaginary fairy tale God will take care of it.
Remember, that is what he's going to do? That's what he does.
You don't have to do it. He's going to do it.

Oh but wait a minute. He doesn't
ever seem to get around to it, does he.

Wait a minute, maybe he doesn't exist.

Nope, can't think that way.

All of you, please shut up. I can't take anymore fairy tale talk.
I hate all of you. Please let the sane people in the middle just get along. You and the ACLU idiots can just duke it out somewhere in a battle royale of idiots.

Look. You're religous. Go read your Bible. Just go read your Bible and shut up. Go read your Bible while your kids go gay. No one wants to hear your crap.

If you really believed it, you wouldn't be coming after everyone. Just shut up with your fairy tales.

I'm tired of being held hostage by all these religious idiots.

I'm tired of having respect for Islam. I'm tired of the Chrisitan right.I'm tired of all you people.

I'm tired of the fairy tales. Just shut up. Keep it to yourself. No one believes it. No one wants to hear about your stupid beliefs. Shut up. We don't care. You know what my belief is, No belief.
The only thing I know is that you idiots are wrong.

If you had one shred of proof, you would shut up. But you can't. You're insecure.

So you have to rub your stink on everything. Just shut up. Here is what you do: Just focus on screwing your kids up with your crappy indoctrination. Just focus on brainwashing your kids so they hate you later. Just focus on that. When you're done with that, then you can work on the abortion doctors and Tommy Chong. How about that. With MTV and the internet these days
its tough brainwashing a kid. Just focus on that. We're to old and too smart to be brainwashed by your crappy religion. Just worry about effing up your kids. Fantastic.

Religion is for idiots. They don't have to think so much. It's tough when you have to think. It's scary.

Uh oh. I might die. Bad things might happen to me for no good reason. Uh oh. Uh oh, there may not be a plan. Oh no. Therehas got to be a plan. There has got to be.... Just shut up all of you idiots.

Listen, I wouldn't care, but here is the thing:

Kevorkian spent 8 years in the joint, and kids can't get birth control because of you idiots.
Gays can't get married because of you. If you could keep it to yourselves I wouldn't care, but you can't.

So just shut up.

Those of you who are atheist and agnostic, please stop having so much respect for these nutjobs. Please stop respecting them. Please join me in telling them to shut up. Join me and tell them everyone has had an ass full of their fairy tales.

What kids can't get birth control and how old are they?

Your position - that kids should not have a right to birth control - is duly noted.

That was a really good avoidance of the question, perhaps I could learn a lot from you.

Contraception is free here from the Family Planning Clinic, but there are still a huge number of teenage pregnancies. Most public toilets have condom despensers, is a teenager is responsible enough to have sex, then they are responsible enough to use protection. Anyone can get free condoms these days. The only thing that parents must be notified for is when young teenagers want to have abortions, but that is like below 16 or something.

The Emergancy Hormonal Pill can be prescribed on the NHS. But they would have to see their GP first, or otherwise pay. Teenagers can be put on the pill without parental consent.

Regarding 11 and 12 year olds, they shouldn't even know what sex is. The media plants seeds in young people these days to manipulate their brains. Peer pressure makes people as young as 7 think they have to have sex. I am not joking. It is bad. There are people quatre my age that teach me things by the way they talk.

The fact is that this is what the world has come to all because media tests the water by pushing a little further each time. I was shocked to see a naked man when I watched a 12 a few weeks ago. I turned away and almost left, had I not been with my friends I would have.

There is very little that can be done to avoid children knowing things, especially with the education system in school. I was shown by a nurse in a lesson how to put a condom on a dildo. Like What the crud? Everyone would giggle, but these days it is normal. Each year when we move up a year, the change can be seen.

It isn't easy.

I don't think and nor do I believe that contraception is banned to young people. Young people can get there hands on anything they want. For gosh sakes, the first day I came to uni, I was held a free condom, I was like, what the heck am I gonna do with that?

They know, they know the consequences, the majority that fall pregnant just don't care. I think abortion for irresponsible people should be banned. I think only people who are in danger and there is no other way out should be allowed to abort, especially if the child is in danger too. And I think people should grow up, if they are going to do adult things then they should behave and take responsibility like an adult.

Yeah, it's a great idea to have more irresponsible people raising children.

Well, maybe if they didn't think... "Oh, I can just have an abortion", they will be more responsible and not treat abortion like a drive through at McDonalds.
The problem is that teenagers think it is ok because they can get rid of it simply and that is wrong. It is wrong that society has that view and if people were made and saw that they have to take more responsibility because they won't get away with it, then they will take care. Better one generation of irresponsible "idiots" than every generation in the future becoming more and more full of delinquents. Because that is what is happening. The sad thing is that there is nothing that can be done about it. Knowledge is out there and cannot be taken back.

I just love how the boats in front don't move. LOL. I like the white part of the explosion where the sea is like going up and coming out, looks like a strange plant.
