Lutherans.

I was flicking through random articles on Wikipedia as I like to do and I just realised that lutherans come from Martin Luther King. I didn't know that. I found that interesting. I didn't even now he was a religious man. I just thought he was a man that talked a lot of sense, do Lutherans see him like Christians see Jesus? I mean, like is he their prophet kind of person? LOL. One learns something new everyday.

Lutherans see Jesus as Jesus. They are Christians, like all other protestant sects. They see Luther as a visionary man who tried to fix some problems in the catholic church. I suppose it would be more accurate to say Lutherans see Luther as a sort of Joseph Smith, but not quite. They don't revere him the way Mormons revere Smith.

Luther may have made a lot of sense, but he was also a vicious anti-semite.

Isn't Martin Luther and Martin Luther king the same person? I visualise a man standing in front of people teaching and black people having to sit at the back of the bus. Which one is that? Hmm... I will go have a look.

Eta: Oh I was thinking of Martin Luther King, I didn't know there was another one. Hmm... So he is not the leader of the Lutherans. Cool.

Martin Luther King wasn't a vicious antisemite, by the way. Martin Luther was.

No, Martin Luther King Jr. wasn't the leader of the Lutherans. He was a civil rights leader and a Baptist preacher.

No, they're not the same person at all.

Martin Luther King was the father of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King was originally Michael King, but after visiting Germany, in I think the 1930's, he officially changed his name to Martin Luther King, in honor of the Protestant reformer, Martin Luther.

Martin Luther began the Protestant Reformation on October 31, 1517, if I remember correctly.

Pirate, there's a good movie about Martin Luther that came out a couple of years ago that might help you.

You've got your whole lifetime to learn.

Martin Luther King was named after Martin Luther, but they're separated by about 400 years.

Martin Luther was a leader in the reformation movement, a Catholic priest who wanted the Catholic Church to change and reform from within. The Lutheran Church grew out of a movement he created that some of his followers continued and made into a reformation church. He did not actually start the Lutheran Church himself.

Well, good luck learning. The charming thing about you is you're not ashamed to be woefully wrong or even naïve, and can laugh at yourself about it.
