Operation Gay Watch: From The Beginning

Post by _Droopy »

Let's start at the beginning (a very good place to start) and take a critical look at the original Gay rights platform National Coalition of Gay Organizations Convention held in Chicago in 1972, for some perspective regarding just what this movement has traditionally intended to achieve societally, over the last 30 plus years. Some of the more interesting parts will be italicized.

FEDERAL LEVEL:

1. Amend all federal Civil Rights Acts, other legislation and government controls to prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations and public services.

2. Issuance by the President of an executive order prohibiting the military from excluding for reasons of their sexual orientation, persons who of their own volition desire entrance into the Armed Services; and from issuing less-than-fully-honorable discharges for homosexuality; and the upgrading to fully honorable all such discharges previously issued, with retroactive benefits.

3. Issuance by the President of an executive order prohibiting discrimination in the federal civil service because of sexual orientation, in hiring and promoting; and prohibiting discriminations against homosexuals in security clearances.

4. Elimination of tax inequities victimizing single persons and same-sex couples.

5. Elimination of bars to the entry, immigration and naturalization of homosexual aliens.

6. Federal encouragement and support for sex education courses, prepared and taught by gay women and men, presenting homosexuality as a valid, healthy preference and lifestyle as a viable alternative to heterosexuality.

7. Appropriate executive orders, regulations and legislation banning the compiling, maintenance and dissemination of information on an individual's sexual preferences, behavior, and social and political activities for dossiers and data banks.

8. Federal funding of aid programs of gay men's and women's organizations designed to alleviate the problems encountered by Gay women and men which are engendered by an oppressive sexist society.

9. Immediate release of all Gay women and men now incarcerated in detention centers, prisons and mental institutions because of sexual offense charges relating to victimless crimes or sexual orientation; and that adequate compensation be made for the physical and mental duress encountered; and that all existing records relating to the incarceration be immediately expunged.

STATE LEVEL:

1. All federal legislation and programs enumerated in Demands 1, 6, 7, 8, and 9 above should be implemented at the State level where applicable.

2. Repeal of all state laws prohibiting private sexual acts involving consenting persons; equalization for homosexuals and heterosexuals for the enforcement of all laws.

3. Repeal all state laws prohibiting solicitation for private voluntary sexual liaisons; and laws prohibiting prostitution, both male and female.

4. Enactment of legislation prohibiting insurance companies and any other state-regulated enterprises from discriminating because of sexual orientation, in insurance and in bonding or any other prerequisite to employment or control of one's personal demesne.

5. Enactment of legislation so that child custody, adoption, visitation rights, foster parenting, and the like shall not be denied because of sexual orientation or marital status.

6. Repeal of all state laws prohibiting transvestism and cross-dressing.

7. Repeal of all laws governing the age of sexual consent.

8. Repeal of all legislative provisions that restrict the sex or number of persons entering into a marriage unit; and the extension of legal benefits to all persons who cohabit regardless of sex or numbers.

So, how then, the liberal always asks, does homosexual marriage effect you? How does it oppress you? How does it impact you, your society, and the kind of society your children and grandchildren will have to negotiate?

How indeed?

So what? Everything I read in that long list of "smoking guns" you think you've got looks like something designed to get anti-homo azzholes like you off their back.

Here's a suggestion. Leave the fags alone, Coggy old boy. Just stop thinking about them. Ignore them. Go on with your life and just don't spend any time fretting over the fact that some gay dudes, possibly wearing assless chaps and acting all queer and whatnot might be buggering each other. Yeah, it's disgusting to me too, but so what? It's a huge world out there, Cogs, and there are almost 7 billion people in it, and I guarangoddamntee you that there are many millions of people who do things, and like things, that are simply untakeable to you and me both. So what? Who ever said you and I would have the right to have everyone else in the world conform to our own personal sensibilities?

They wouldn't be holding gay agenda conventions or whatever to plan out their strategy if their strategies didn't have to be about getting people like you to leave them the hell alone.

ps: I don't agree with repealing all laws reguarding age of consent, and I doubt most gay people would agree with that either. Except the NAMBLA folks, of course.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

I know at least two gay couples who are married. Both are LDS. Both have children. One has gone through the temple with the blessing of their leadership. One serves in the bishopric.

In both cases, the marriages involve two gay persons. In both cases, the marriages involve one gay male and one gay female.

Gay. Married. Blessed by the church. Given callings. Given respect in their community.

So the LDS Church blesses gay marriages already, whether it realizes it or not.

How does this impact me? It doesn't, really. Does it bother me that those children are being raised by gay parents? Not particularly.

You pulled something from 35+ years ago. Can you substantiate that this this is currently subscribed to by any group? If not, you can roll it up and smoke it.

Typical left winger. Typical left wing rant. Typical emotion based response to serious argument.

The age of consent issue has been a long standing concern of the Gay rights movement, which is not at all strange given the substantial popularity of pederasty among the male homosexual sub-culture.

Furthermore, anti-gay threads are counterproductive because the second post is always a banner ad for a gay "connections" website.

As far as I know, all of it is, in one form or another.

Now, that's spoken like someone who's been subject to abuse in previous years, who's extrapolated his or her own experience onto a whole group. I hope for your sake that's not the case. Most people I've known who talk about popularity of predominance of "pederasty among male homosexual sub-culture" either have been abused, or have questions regarding their own sexuality, for one reason or another.

I hope in your case I'm wrong.

Why don't you back that up with some authority, then. Things change over time, and I would imagine that the evil gay agenda has been modified over the years, as well.

I mean, c'mon: "As far as I know" - do you get the newsletter or something? Show some concrete references, or abandon the argument.
