DCP at FreedomFest
Dr. Peterson recently posted on MAD that he will be appearing at FreedomFest 08. He'll be debating Robert Spencer; their topic: "The Real Islam: Radical or Peaceful?” Also appearing at FreedomFest will be Dinesh D'Souza, Michael Shermer, and Christopher Hitchens. (I wonder if the last is aware of Dr. Peterson's critique of "god Is Not Great.")
At any rate, it looks like it will be a fascinating event. Wish I could make it....

I would love to watch Robert Spencer debate Mr. Peterson. However, with every point made they'll essentially be talking past each other, and Mr. Peterson, the dhimmi he is, will undoubtedly continue his apologetics well past his exchange with Robert Spencer. This, by the way, is a huge coupe for Mr. Peterson. If he does well, he might elevate his status within the Islamo-apologist world. Hell, if he's lucky he might be able to score some of that sweet Saudi petrocash from his endeavors....

The one on Shakespeare looks interesting.

I would pay money to see DCP debate Christopher Hitchens. That would be really funny.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

Would that be a Coupe de Ville or an Aston Martin?
I was thinking a coup d’état.
Or maybe that delightful Oakland trio starring Raymond "Boots" Riley and E-Roc along with DJ Pam the Funkstress.

As much as I like Hitchens and disagree with Dr. Peterson, I'm inclined to think that DCP would more than hold his own against Hitch if they were to debate his (Hitchens') book. It would be a remarkable thing to witness, that's fo sho.
