Runtu's Blog

Post by _KimberlyAnn »

I know there are other fans of Runtu's blog here, but for those who are unfamiliar with it, I want to provide a link. He's provided it before on the board, so I doubt he'll mind if I post it again.

It's http://runtu.wordpress.com/

His mission stories are riveting. Also, his writing is superb. It's true: I'm biased. I utterly adore John! But, that doesn't change the fact that his writing is fantastic. Check it out for yourself.

Please note his blog roll. There are wonderful blogs listed there, such as Sister MaryLisa's and our own Chris Smith's. I could waste way too much time browsing the blogs of such fine writers!

Thank you, John, for the great reading.

Indeed. He has that priceless gift of keeping his writing “accessible” to those of us who are uneducated while maintaining his fantastic (and mesmeric) writing “voice.”

‘Tis good stuff.

I loved his mission stories. I actually feel like I lived his mission now (I just have to be careful that I don't end up accidentally telling them as my own ;) ).

So long as you can avoid those dreaded brown outs - you wouldn't want to take the adopted mission too far!

And I am a BIG runtu blog fan.

His blog is not that good. It's just more of the same old subjectively anecdotal antiMormon claptrap.

Awww shucks...Wassamatter bc? not getting stroked over here like they do you in the MA&D house?

You gotta admit the his post about the Youth Trek was boarder line youth brainwashing.. but I know, I know, just like with the MMM and Brigham, the local leaders were responsible, NOT HINCKLEY..

http://runtu.wordpress.com/2008/05/22/t ... -testimony

My son told me that his adult chaperon had collapsed from heat stroke and had to be hospitalized.

The following week, the stake held a fireside wherein they showed a video/slide show and had people talk about the great experience they had had. At one point, the stake president, nearly in tears, told the story of my son’s chaperone’s miraculous healing.

He said that the chaperon had collapsed and was unable to move until he received a priesthood blessing. Then and only then had he been able to get up and walk to a truck that would take him to the hospital. If he hadn’t received the blessing he might have died there on the ground in Oklahoma.

My son’s face had this strange mixture of shock and anger, and he turned to me and said, “That’s a complete lie. Nothing like that happened.”

I agree. He attempts a subtle form of brainwashing with every post.
