I think the "problem" may have been his statements about there being no god. That seemed to rub the mod the wrong way. The implication of there being no god, but church leaders pronouncing god's will (wait - that means that the leaders are just expressing their own desires!) may have been too much for the mod's testimony to bear.
Silly.
Yet we can still have folks over there calling for the destruction of an entire state and the wicked people therein, with no attendant penalty, since they are believing Mormons.
Go figure.

Do the mods not inform you in your ban-worthy post that you are banned? I thought I used to see that noted. Then other readers would at least know what happened and why.
If not, people just disappear...
Of course, I guess if you're banned you can't read the mod's message anyway.
I see a mod note at the top of the board that they are sick of FLDS-LDS comparisons (there is NO connection!) so maybe they are extra sensitive just now?
That could last a while as the FLDS situation is going to be news for a long time, I would say.

Well, Chronos was kind enough to close one of Sethbag's posts, stating that he would no longer be able to respond since he is no longer with them. But I couldn't find any mention of why he was banned.
It would be nice so that we know what not to do.

You expected fairness from MAD? Just how naïve are you?
I'm extremely disappointed that they banned me and then turned around and locked the thread where I asked the TBMs which non-Mormon they would choose to decide, for them, what God's Will is, and enact it (God's Will) into law. That's an exceedingly telling question to ask, because it would be very hard for most TBMs to come up with a non-Mormon whom they would trust to do this.
And that's the point. Many Mormons have no problem expressing a desire for God's Will to be enacted into law, so long as it's God's Will According to Mormonism. But active Mormons maybe make up 1.5million to 2million people out of a population of over 300 million in the United States, and a much smaller proportion pretty much everywhere else in the world. It's not realistic to expect that a Mormon would be the one chosen to decide what is God's Will.
And even if they could get a Mormon into the position to decide God's Will, the hypocrisy is glaring in the idea that Mormons wouldn't trust a non-Mormon to legislate God's Will over them, but expect 298 million other non-Mormon Americans to entrust that job to a Mormon.
It was an exceedingly useful and discussion-worthy post, and it deserved to be discussed by people over there. In fact, a good half or more of me rather suspects that I was banned just so that they could justify locking that thread so nobody would respond (meaningfully) to it. There was a lame response in there from some guy who seems rather surprised that I would assert that in a population of 300 million Americans with only 2 million active Mormons in it, a Mormon wouldn't stand a ghost of a chance being chosen by the people to enact God's Will into law over them.
I'd like to see a thread about this here. Or in the CK.

On your 11:43 pm (PST) post where you first wrote about the prophet claiming to be a representative of god. A mod added on:
Capricious Mod wrote:You really need to watch what you are saying about the Prophet. ~Mods
Of course, such an edit is not time stamped, so we have no idea when it may have been added. Your last post on that thread was at 2:22am (PST). Nobody seems to have complained within the thread about your posts.
Then, this morning at 7:20 am (PST), Chronos added a note to the affirmation thread saying:
Cranky Chrono wrote:Sethbag, you're done.
~Chronos
Your other thread was locked seven minutes later, with the note from Chronos that the "thread is over seeing as Sethbag is no longer posting here."
I saw nothing worthy of banning. I could see Bach getting slapped for saying god enjoyed sodomy (if KA can get banned for referring to god's penis, it would seem to be exponentially worse to say he uses it). But Sethbag has done nothing wrong.
by the way - who is Chronos?

Sethbag's banning was probably due to complaints from longtime TBM posters. Being banned for some relatively mild comments suggests to me that Sethbag has irked a few posters over a long period of time and Mods responded.
Just about every critic gets banned, sooner or later. MADB has certainly clamped down over the last year or so. It has become a touchy-feely place for the faithful.

Sethbag, while taking a left-wing position on homosexuality brands you as an uneducated dolt and an antiMormon, I saw nothing worthy of banning in this case.
We need to have smilies in here. In particular, one with two engaged in battle. The one punches the other in the mouth and the word "Liar!" scrolls out of view. Then the other one blindsides the other one in the temple with a night stick while the word "Heathen!" scrolls out of view.
