Geez what a let down, I'd like to catch him/her? out in the open once....drats.
He posted here once...maybe he'll come back. [*Bond sacrifices an endangered lowland gorilla baby to Odin that he won't*]
I think I get the gist of it. Kinda like paintball with no goggles.
But here everyone has to take their goggles off. At MAD only the critics can't wear goggles.

I'll just wait over here for him, in the tall grasses.

I'm sure this will be an adjustment for me. Now I'll have to recalibrate my targeting sensors, as well as change my phaser setting from "Mr. Nice Guy" to "stun".

The difference is simple: we can say what we think. We challenge every viewpoint, including our own. We debate every topic. The different kingdoms have different levels of discourse that are allowed, but all subjects can be discussed in every forum. Spam and porn are dumped into Outer Darkness, but other than that, this is the Wild Wild West.
I completely disagree with you. With pure objectivity, of course. (All I have to do is claim it, apparently, and it's mine.)

Okay, that was funny.

See? Even Nehor gets to say what he thinks!
No, I just love the idea that serious discussion goes on here. The closest we get to that is in the Celestial forum and that mostly devolves into sophisticated accusations of the opponent using ad hominem attacks against them while their opponent does the same thing. In the Terrestrial forum we have lots of comparisons between the LDS and FLDS (mostly an analysis of what Mormons on another board say), an attack on anecdotal stories about car keys, Infymus and Merc raving, and Scratch's latest reports about what apologist A did somewhere on the Intratubes with a veneer of objectivity and a lot of smearing. In the Telestial we have photoshops of General Authorities acting naughty, a femdomme fantasy thread, and attacks on posters' virility. In the Off-Topic forum we have random what I was thinking about today threads and more then occasionally the latest report from conservative talk radio on Global Warming.
Where are the challenging viewpoints (insults don't count) or the intense debates?
I'm not knocking the board I just don't see how your description fits.
