Chronos: Mike, you do not seem to understand you are a guest here, and you are welcome to leave or stay as you please. However, staying means you follow the rules we set down. Because of the political and often negative fallout that is usually associated with the FLDS sects in the news, then logically you should see why it should be refrained from being used. If you want to talk about the factions that have not made news because they do not practice what is making Warren Jeffs a news story, then I think that would be fine. However, to directly associate or compare them to radical sects that are well beyond the boundaries that were once used by the LDS church, that will not be tolerated. I will give you a day to process this.
I understand that I am a guest here. I've been participating on this forum long before it was ever handed over by FAIR. No need to give me a day. It is obvious that the moderators aren't interested in allowing a level playing field, and so I have made my decision. I am done. And I have no intent in coming back so long as the trigger-happy moderation stays the way it is.
I vote with my feet.
So long everyone! See you elsewhere in Cyberspace!
They deleted my post. Anyone know who the moderators are?
Sethbag wrote:Also, thanks to LifeOnAPlate for sticking up for me over there after the banning. To my knowledge, he's the first and probably the only one to do so thus far, though I may have just missed seeing it if someone else did to. I appreciate it.
edit: Mike Reed, not a TBM, also spoke up - thanks Mike!

And they banned you.
We've speculated on moderator IDs. Without knowing specifically who is who, it would seem that juliann, dan, jan and smac are mods (smac used to post under Rhad, but since he couldn't keep his IDs straight, I think they gave him a new mod puppet).
What amuses me is this quote from Orpheus:
Orpheus wrote:We do not have time for this and resources are already limited. Honestly we gain nothing for doing this and it has grown tiresome.
I wonder why they see moderating as such a burden and relish in holding the burden out for all to see. If it is so truly horrible, why oh why don't they find someone else to do it, or quit complaining.
I may be going to hell in a bucket, babe / But at least I'm enjoying the ride.

I imagine that the moderating process has changed hands over the years. However, last I was aware, the following MAD posters were involved in the Moderating process:
Juliann
Dan G
Allen Wyatt
Jan
Calmorah
The two consistent key players are Dan and Juliann. Dan G did all of the software upgrades during the FAIR/MAD transition, and Juliann has him on a fairly short leash.
Juliann is the board owner. So, basically, whether or not she claims she is an official moderator, nothing happens on that board that she doesn't smack a seal of approval on.

How do you know all of this? I'm not arguing with you, I'm just curious. Thanks.
Seth...Since you started a separate thread on the subject of God's will and the law, I'm going to split out the responses on this thread and move them to your new one.

Here's the current listing of mods and who I think is who:

Chaos (Juliann)
Chronos -moderator (low level) -I don't think this is smac or Dan G -truly an anomaly in my opinion
Dunamis (Juliann) -rarely used~Chaos used mostly
Herakles -moderator (low level..smac?)
Hestia -moderator (low level-unknown)
Nemesis --senior admin (Allen Wyatt?)
Orpheus (Dan G)
Rhad (smac)
Skylla (calmoriah)

Such as pyramid schemes. But such does not invalidate the morality of teaching against other addictions does it?
No, I'm referring to food, drug, and pornography addictions -- much more prevalent in the church than the norm. The physical and emotional damage these and other obsessions common in Mormondum are quite a problem. But again, that's another thread....
I'm quite certain these other addictions occur within the Church, but CFR on the "much more prevelent than the norm".

I read it. Interesting. It looks like the details were written by someone other than you, but I assume you have adopted the description by posting it in your blog.
