Well, to some people it does, to others, no.
This is why I say that the mountains of evidence against the Book of Mormon certainly screams that it is false. But, you can't just claim there is ZERO evidence for the Book of Mormon. There is. Weak as it may be, it does exist.
They only worry about it because they can add it to the thin pile of [circumstantial] evidence. Apologists who throw out NHM use it in an attempt to connect a fictional story in the New World to something that possibly could happen in the Old World. Personally I would divide the arguments into New World and Old World. I'll concede the Old World points as plausible [Jews existed in the Old World so you at least have the actors right?] but the New World stuff is thin, anorexic imho.

Yeah, I'll agree with this. The New World evidences are horrible stretches.
I'm not sure I've seen a single new world evidence that wasn't just laughable.

I agree with this, and since I'm mainly interested in the Mesoamerican side of the equation, I'm mainly dealing with the laughable, which is why I do feel that, in regards to locating the Book of Mormon in mesoamerica, there really is no evidence for it.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.
