Who knows what is or isn't doctrine in the LDS church? It changes like the wind.

One thing I have realized:

It is wrong to assume LDS = truth. Doctrine in the LDS church means, what is currently accepted as official teachings which may or may not be true.

Just because the church believes it was doctrine doesn't mean it was.
According to you?

It was, and is a doctrine of both the LDS and FLDS religions. Your unwillingness to stand up against LDS Inc does not change it.

I repeat, for you and anyone else: just because the church believed it was doctrine doesn't mean it was.

Surely you've heard of the doctrines of men, Boaz?
So with that you are saying LDS is a false church for making up such doctrines?

Can't be. My hair is white.

And just because the church believes something doesn't mean it's God-breathed. Prophets are men; men make mistakes; therefore prophets make mistakes... and Joseph made a huge mistake with polygamy.

And yet you support this huge mistake by wearing garmies, attending the temple, believing in your temple marriage, and adorning your home with pictures of the temple.

I think you've been in the wrong house. I wear what pleases me as you'd see if you went through my drawers. I go where I want to go, including the temple if that's what pleases me; believe in what I want to believe including Jesus Christ, since that's what resonates with me; but you're most interested in what's on my walls, aren't you? For starters, there are no pictures of any buildings of any sort in my home. I have pictures of my family on several walls in my living room, pictures of Christ on one wall in my foyer, a picture of a girl on a horse and a lovely Robert Redbird framed painting of a Kiowa medicine man hang in my family room along with more assorted family pictures. I have some framed stitcheries, one of which my dad made for me right before he died (it's a still life of fruits and such) and my beloved Impressionist collection in the dining room. In my office I have my framed graduation certificates, a poster of some sea lions (from a family vacation years ago) and another poster of two children with a toy sailboat (which always makes me smile); there's nothing in my hallway except a bulletin board full of family snap shots. In my bathroom is a miniature picture of Victorian flowers, in the main bath is a picture of a gilded still life. In my bedroom are more family pictures, most of which are very old.

Now you know what's on my walls. I'm sure you're going to tell me why what's on my walls is significant to you.

Nice lack of taste, bc.

Oh no! MAD is finally starting to figure out that the real enemy is not the sparing-partner critics, but the "faithful" blasting out all sorts of craziness. MAD is its own worst enemy. This is partly because it edits out the shrill voices of critics leaving only the faithful left to fill the role of the over the top weirdo.

If they figure out they need to reign in the nuts on the board, my chief source of internet entertainment is going to end. :(

in my opinion, its the large array of crazy answers available that allows "internet" Mormons to pick and choose answers needed to answer doubts. Since there isn't a official answer to any question; any person's speculation is just as valid as a "professional" apologist. Personally I enjoy the wackos about 90% of the time. It's the 10% when I want to bang my head on something wondering how people can be so self deluded.

Agreed. That image was really tacky and tasteless. You lost respect from me over that, BC.

Oh, and, for the record, Harmony is NOT an anti-Mormon. Better get your reading comprehension skills in check.
