I must be a bad woman 'cause I can not stand alpha males. Despise them.
They gross me out.
Big time.
Yet, I still have educational and career goals, am super active with a lot of community volunteer work, and enjoy my life. I don't think a successful man correlates to an alpha male. And of course success is measured differently for different people.

I've found that in life we have to choice to be generous and try to make other people happy. We don't have the choice of finding someone who takes great pleasure in making ourselves happy. In other words, we have the choice of how we treat other people. We do not have the power to choose how we are treated. That's partly why I hang on so tightly to my own religious notions.
Sure we have the choice of finding who we want. If you've never been with a woman you want to spoil and who wants to spoil you then I feel sorry for you. You missed out.

They seek men of a like mind, or at the very least seek men who can keep up with them. That's a hard find, by the way. Most men don't have the energy to keep up with women
Is it energy or just priorities? I see 50 year old successful men (e.g. Bill Clinton) who put all their time and money into romancing a beautiful woman. I guess if it were me, I'd rather be watching, or hopefullly playing the game (sports not dating) or involved in my children (hopefully) or family's life.
So the truism that a woman can't find a "good man" is closer to the mark than most men would be willing to admit.
Yeah, I mean there is only one Bill Clinton and lots of women. That's partly why I can understand polygamy. But if Bill were to try to make me pay for his harem like Brigham did, it would be total war. That's partly why I hate taxation so bad. I'm not convinced Bill isn't secretly diverting the funds. He already had the police force helping him hide and facilitate his many affairs.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

What facts am I not considering that would make my view of the world skewed? Or are you saying what I see happen really doesn't happen?
I think your need for fairness is the underlying issue.
Oh definitely. I'd rather go to war and loose a limb than suffer unfairness. I'm not really convinced that's a ultimately a bad thing either. Part of what I enjoy today is because my ancestors felt this way.
Personally, I think it has distorted your view of relationships in general and women in particular. I also think this obsession makes life really difficult. The reality is, life isn't fair, their isn't a tally sheet, bad things happen to "good" people, good things happen to "bad" people, there are no angels in heaven keeping track in some celestial book, and trying to make it otherwise is futile.
Of course their are strange, needy, unhealthy women in the world. But I think your underlying issues are clouding your view of the real world.
Perhaps you could ponder why you are obsessed with fairness in the first place?

Oh, also, I'm COMPLETELY with moniker, Alpha Males are the worst! GAG!!!! LOL!

Oh, I'm not confused.

In human societies alpha male can mean very different things. Some use the term to mean the guy who seems most at ease with women and can essentially marry or date any woman of his choice. In this sense the alpha male is often good-looking, has a great build, and may have a relatively high socioeconomic status. These distinctions may be less noticed in human groups like high school settings. Generally the alpha male (or a group of alpha males) are the cutest guys, usually muscle-bound, sometimes the “jocks,” while beta males may be less assured around females and may participate in less “male” activities.
The guys who join math teams or play chess at lunch are usually the beta males and may be thought less attractive by girls. It should be noted that “nerds” (and here we use the term fondly and affectionately), are becoming increasingly popular. As long-term mates or “boyfriends,” they stereotypically on average tend to be nicer and more respectful toward girls. This article also does not imply that all attractive males are necessarily alpha. Alpha males are more about exhibiting traits that are essentially masculine or “macho.” Many attractive males are beta to the core when it comes to relating with people.

In humans, the expression refers to a man who is powerful or high on the social ladder, similar to hegemonic masculinity.

Sometimes it seems impossible to be what a woman wants...
Be confidant, but not cocky. Be assertive, but not an alpha male.
It's amazing people ever get married at all.

Oh, and men don't put ridiculous demands on women? Give me a break. LOL
I think that one of the main reasons the Church focuses on marrying early is because we're all too horny and stupid to know what we're doing.

Well, on this board alone, Bond and I are hopelessly single, while every woman here has a somewhat cult-following of men who would marry them in a heartbeat if given the opportunity.
I can't even get a date, let alone a relationship.
Soooo....you tell me....
