Well, if you're not happy in the Mormon church, then maybe it is time for a change.
For me, it wasn't about whether or not I was happy, but rather about whether or not the Mormon church was true. When I no longer felt it was true, I could no longer attend.
Welcome to the board, by the way.

As to the OP, i respectfully suggest you understand that being LDS, or a member of any religious sect, bears upon THIS life only. There is no other life but the mortal life.
As long as one's life is enhanced by membership in any group, then there is good reason to remain. When group-membership is taking, more than giving... I appreciate the difficulty you express in asserting yourself. A most common state for many. We've been conditioned to comply. Life SEEMS easier that way, but that is an illusion.
Why not take your Mormon-time as a learning experience, and grow from it. Learning to say, "Thank-you, but no-thanks," will put you several notches above the average "bitcher"... Welcome to the group... Warm regards, Roger

Thanks and I feel exactly this way, if I cann't be happy in theis life, I really don't give a heck abput afterlife. It is just frustrating to hear: Well, you just have to suffer through this life and you'll be rewarded in the end. I've been good for a wwhile and what? Nothing. So, for me there's a lot of thinking to do.
I appreciate ya'll comments (usually I don't say ya'll but since I live in the South now, why not :-)

Well, I think being a Mormon comes with a buit-in community. So, that's nice. The key is to find your niche among the Mormons. Try to make friends that are genuine both in and out of the Mormon church and you'll find your way. The magical thinking aspect of Mormonism, obviously, isn't for me and I don't recommend it for anyone else. However, if you can always keep a healthy perspective on your spirituality you can derive a lot of satisfaction from any religious community.

Yeah, I'm originally from Washington state, but the y'all thing happens after living in the South. This will be my sixth year here and I say it, too. Heh..

I really don't ant to feel as an outcast because most of my family and friends are in Church, and don't get me wrong, I don't mind it that much but I just don't like the pressure put on me to do things that I don't want to do. I want it to be my choice, not somebody else's.

Then let it be your choice. Your beliefs are for you to discover and refine. They
help to guide you and comfort you. so choose what suits you best.
