Well, I think eventually you develop faith enough that you don't have to be so afraid....or so I'm told. I'm on Vicodin until this kidney stone passes. I just want to give birth to this bastard child so I can move on.

I believe the Moroni's promise paradigm is nothing more than a dumb-down strategy. In other words, as one is confronted with a situation, or a bit of information that creates confusion (stupor), the TBM tends to immediately dismiss it as false and justifies the dismissal as "inspiration." The problem is that in order to learn something, we must have the confusion at first, as it is something that is new and unknown, then when using reason and logic, the new information is assimilated and a new understanding is established.

I think most of us Mormon graduates have experienced this process of discomfort when given new details of doctrinal/historical conflict, and have pushed through the "pain" to eventually see the truth.

No, I need a stash in case I get another one.

Tis true, that's taught. However, general observation would tend to indicate, "not very much fasting is taking place." Roger ;-)

Too funny: I always thought that to be a bishop you should have a 36 inch of less waist - may be a weight requirement based on your height. I like to hold and kiss woman but there is a sexy form of art which is an older man who is slim and in shape.

We need a little less blessing brownies and punch to be good for us and a little dust blown off the old teaching that gluttony is a sin. If you can't run to your mailbox without getting weary or walk from your couch to the fridge without feeling faint there also might be a need for a quick Word of Wisdom review.

Too true. And, while dusting off "THE Word OF Wisdom," how about ditto, "the perils of wealth-building/seeking-after riches?" WOW, just imagine a congregation of physically-fit, spiritually tuned to resist materialism... 'Twould hardly be recognized as LDS ;-)

After the rigors of 75 years, no hair, false-teeth, hearing/visual impairments, retention deficite disorder--getting worse...Nah, only in sweet memmmories... But hey, Life couldn't be better! :-) Roger
