...because such an instinct benefits our survival as a species.

We can learn to ignore this inner voice, we can go off our own knowledge and place our faith in the best scholar that flatters our intellect the best, but that's a dangerous game to play.

It'd say it's a more dangerous game to play to refuse to use your brain in relation to such matters.
...each to their own though ;)

Oh - and I wouldn't place my trust fully in any 'scholar'. I'd listen to what they had to say - sure. I will also listen to politicians, rock stars, friends, family and even - lol - religious leaders on occasion!
But in the end, I'd always make up my own mind...

The name of God is Father, and the marriage between a Man and a Woman is the highest covenant that can be made between man and God.

...said the Mormon to the atheist...

This is because the highest lesson that can be learned is how to create and maintain life. Maintainign life includes instructing ones children in how to make correct choices that build character.

And yet when the homosexual forces themselves into a heterosexual life, and brings misery and heartache to their family as a result - it's still the homosexuals fault!

...priceless...

If it is, thank the Godesses that I chose it!

Here is a slideshow of childhood photos of Gay adults.

Seems pretty clear to me.

Incidentally, one of my childhood friends is gay. My step-Dad had always told me this even when we were as young as age 8. I didn't know what Gay meant at the time, but he was clearly very "femmy" in the way he acted and spoke, even as a child. It is difficult to imagine this being a conscious choice on his part.

Yes, that would be the way to do it. I wonder if IRB approval would be a problem, though. And even if you get it, I wonder if getting consent/assent would be a problem.

Good points Kevin.

However, what about the men who are the "MAN" in the gay relationship and the women who are the woman in the lesbian relationship?

I have worked with and known a few homosexual people, male and female, some exhibit those "gay" attitudes and behaviors, while other did not at all and did not trigger my gaydar.

I am not picking sides here, as I think it is more complex the merely genius OR choice.
