The whole graduate school business is just a rite of passage or apprenticeship, and anyone who has been around a university for long learns not to expect too much by way of brilliance from someone just because they got throught the PhD mill.

Oh, believe me, being involved in it myself, I agree that obtaining a PhD is more about patience than brilliance. LOL

Even so, it does involve a lot of duly noted hoops to jump through. LOL

Thanks, Chap! :) I'm kind of at a point where I really can't move any further career-wise until I do this, so I suppose I'm "stuck in the mill", as it were. LOL

No one has asked me for my opinion on Will's antics so I thought I'd share them anyways as unsolicited commentary is always the most welcome.

I find what he says tasteless and some of it crass and uninventive but also sometimes hilarious. Watching him and others reactions to him can be very comedic, kinda like watching the Three Stooges playing around with chainsaws.

You do get brownie points for this, though. ;)

Tell you what, when anyone who holds a doctorate starts to call me Dr. AntiShock8 I'll reciprocate. Personally, I think anyone who feels the need to be called a doctor is up his or her own ass, but it is free country...

As far as the shennanigans go, as long as the person who is the shennaniger is on your team you'll be humored by him. If you're the shennanigee or on the other team you'll most likely feel upset. L'enfer, c'est les autres.

I should clarify one point lest I give the wrong impression. While I find much of Will's stuff not to my taste and crasser then I'd like compared to many posters here he is remarkably tame. *cough* Merc Porter Infy Shockie *cough*

I do apologize for rising to yours, the talking carcass', and Will's level of discourse. I'll try to refrain in the future.

edited for grammar: Thanks The Nehor

The man earned a PhD. He deserves the title of "Dr."

I disagree. In 99.99% of his message board activities, Senor Peterson is clearly speaking as a man, and not as a professor of Islamic studies.
