Students who participate often find that they wish their friends and roommates were equally gay and thus give them a call while at that club and invite them to come out too.

This juvenile crap was not funny when Will was doing it. You've just lost a bit of dignity in my estimation, but then I don't suppose anyone here really cares.

You know, virtually every LDS poster on these boards has been told that in the last week. Must be a plot of some kind.....is it ours.....or theirs?????????

I just couldn't figure out if he was serious or joking. Was it a joke? Whatever it was, yuck.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Yeah, I know. You guys think this is all hysterically funny. Whatever. Crude sexual double-entendres are usually the stock in trade of R-rated teen sex flicks. If that's where you want to go, have at it. Just don't expect me to go along.

I think it must be abman's way of showing that he is a worthy priesthood holder who does not associate with apostates, and who zealously avoids the appearance of evil.

Never mind. Anything that puts the lurkers off letting the missionaries through the front door ...

Of course it was a joke. Here's the premise:

Will uses language that is normally extraordinarily vulgar slang used to describe sexual and scatalogical functions. People understand what he's doing and object to it, whereupon Will chortles to himself and proclaims his innocence. Meanwhile, Nehor and asbestosman, finding all this hilarious, proceed to copy Will's behavior.

It wasn't funny the first time. And Will's an idiot.

Both?

I take responsibility for what I did. I am, in fact, juvenile and I do suspect that nobody here cares.

To be serious again, I was hoping that my silly behavior on this thread might make the point to Will that hiding insults in double-entendres isn't some sort of free-pass for assinine behavior. Did I go about it the wrong way? Apparently. It's not that I really like the idea of being a textual mirror as a principle--I cannot blame Will for my actions. My intention was not to actually insult of offend, but merely to demonstrate how easy it is to do so knowing fully well that your audience will likely interpret what you write as vulgar even though you wrote it in such a way that you could claim it was innocent and indeed, you may have only written it with the innocent interpretation in mind. The thing that makes one culpable, I think, is that you know full well that your audience will "misinterpret" what you wrote and did nothing to clarify the proper interpretation for them. They are therefore justified in taking umbrage at you.
