Angus, I can easily pick those two arguments apart myself. That's not what I'm thinking.

What's not to understand? Are they legal adults and do they both consent, i.e. are willing participants?

Odd, I didn't think of you as being a bigoted ass, at least not in context of this thread or topic, Jersey. I mean, you're confused about if you do or don't support gay marriage, but you're honest about it. You're not sure why you disagree or agree, but you're making an attempt to understand the basis for those feelings. That already puts you ahead of 99% of the crowd who basically try to shoehorn their religious view into the lives of others.

Most anyone can, Jersey. Still doesn't stop the anti-gay marriage crowd from using those arguments either as is or dressed up. let's face it, the average American isn't that bright and a smiling face with a good line of bull is more then enough to sway their minds on a given issue.

The two consenting adults position doesn't fare much better than that, Angus.

Might help if you were a little more specific, Jersey. Just saying an argument is wrong without explaining why doesn't mean anything.

My special ladyfriend and I were just watching a thing on the HomoGayTV network, where this couple (two dudes, architects, luvahs) took this crappy old home, renovated it, added a contemporary addition, created an allee, dug out their entire yard, re-built a retaining wall so that their yard doesn't slide into their neighbors' yards (quite considerate they would go through that expense), landscaped it impeccably, and oh, designed and added a rooftop pool to their addition.

Homogays have historically beautified and enhanced their surroundings, increased property values, been gainfully employed, and in my opinion deserve our respect and admiration for the stability and vibrancy many of them bring to a neighborhood, business community, arts, services, and a host of other things. I think demographically they're an unparalleled asset to any society.

Now if THAT isn't a reason to be considerate enough to treat people like that with equality and fairness, then I just don't know what is. They merit marriage more than people who take that institution for granted, and in most cases devalue it.

Put them on a tennis court, golf course, wrestling mat, footrace or soccer field and watch 'equality' at work.

I'm pretty sure I could find women golf or tennis players who could kick your butt. Same with soccer, wrestling, or track.

The women piss and moan about no opportunity, unfair competition and the like.

No women (and enlightened men) object to societies that treat them like slaves, second class citizens, or don't allow them the same opportunities and rights as men based on the lack of a certain body part.
They are NOT equal to men in many ways.

Equal does not mean SAME.

What silliness to suggest women should not be viewed as equal to men because they lack an appendage.

Do you think ALL men can play golf equally well? ALL men can run equally fast?

Men are not the same so should they not be given equal rights as one another?

This line of thinking makes no sense to me.

In the same vein put a man on the balance beam and watch him kill himself while the woman takes it in stride and does well.

I'm pretty sure there are men who are much better on the balance beam than I.

May I suggest you read, The subjection of Women,by John Stewart Mill?

I know many women that can outrun, outshoot, outthink, outmanage, and outdo a host of men in whatever competition or field of expertise we all find ourselves in.

So. Should men in general be less than equal because a woman has bested some men in a particular thing? The line of thinking presented here, yet again, by a Mormon is bigotry. That's what you get with Mormonism: Nonsensical bigotry.

It's no wonder I don't want my children being influenced by this kind of thinking...

If I may make an observation...

The combined IQ of the women on this board eclipses that of the men.
