This is a ridiculous comment. The New Testament cites many Old Testament passages as pointing toward Christ. What would parallels be a threat to Christians?Daniel Boyarin, a professor of Talmudic culture at the University of California at Berkeley, said that the stone was part of a growing body of evidence suggesting that Jesus could be best understood through a close reading of the Jewish history of his day.
“Some Christians will find it shocking — a challenge to the uniqueness of their theology — while others will be comforted by the idea of it being a traditional part of Judaism,” Mr. Boyarin said.

I always keep my skeptical tin-foil hat on with reports like this. Too many "If and buts" and "needs further examination". What happened to the James Encrypton? Too many of these reports, upon further examination, have fizzled out. Why build hopes up, either way, until more investigation takes place?

Oh opps, there for a moment I swore you were talking about the historicity of the Book of Mormon.Ray A wrote:I always keep my skeptical tin-foil hat on with reports like this. Whether it's Book of Mormon historicity, or some Jesus tablet, I've come to my conclusions from other sources, Boaz. I'm just a bit amused that every little bit of "evidence" is greeted with such fanfare. If I were a betting man, my bets on who would back what could get me rich.

Can someone enlighten me in that regard?
I suspect the reporter was from another faith tradition that thought Christianity was tied to unwavering dogmatism.
