LDS Cinema/Arts going to pot ....

Post by _Rollo Tomasi »

First, Kirby Heyborne (of RM fame) does a beer commerical.

Then, the Mormon beefcake calendar creator gets ex'ed.

Now, the hilarious "ref" in Church Ball and sidekick in Singles Ward (among other LDS movies) is busted for felony theft (see link below).

"Moving beyond apologist persuasion, LDS polemicists furiously (and often fraudulently) attack any non-traditional view of Mormonism. They don't mince words -- they mince the truth."

-- Mike Quinn, writing of the FARMSboys, in "Early Mormonism and the Magic World View," p. x (Rev. ed. 1998)

Tsk tsk. Now he's chortling over the misfortunes of others. To what depths has The Unflappable One (now unmasked) descended? Deeply troubling.

How is it a misfortune that Michael Birkeland decided to be a thief and got caught because he's an idiot (seriously, disable the cam much? Not like it's hard to do...)? This guy belongs on America's Dumbest Criminals and deserves every ounce of mockery people decide to level at him.

Rollo,

We all know that the Utah Symphony and Opera is barely treading water. It doesn't matter how many tickets to Utah cultural events Dr. Peterson buys in an attempt to convince us that Utah is the hub of Western civilization, anything Utah has that could qualify as "art" is on the decline.

It's not too hard to figure out why. First of all, do you know what Utah's most important cultural contribution -- and I use those words loosely -- to the world is outside of Mormonism? Fry Sauce. I'm not making this up, this is according to the Church's very own journalistic arm:

http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,650220850,00.html

Someone took a big spoonful of the thoroughly disgusting white goo called mayonnaise and mixed it with ketchup to produce the most vulgar condiment known to the history of the world. It's a sauce appealing only to brute and the most common of tastes. And the creation of it is the defining moment of the modern Utah cultural identity.

But there is more. Because to seal its cultural doom is the church's attack on the homosexual community. As far as the arts go, talk about the antithesis to networking.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Hilarious. I guess starring in those Mormon pop culture movies doesn't earn one enough money to buy his/her own computer.

See, it's comments like this that really reinforce my notion that most heavily religious men that object to women showing a little skin are really just closeted homosexuals. Like so far back in the closet that they're hiding behind the box of 8-track cassettes.
