Will Rod Meldrum get excommunicated?

Post by _Gadianton »

A serious charge against Meldrum from his ecclesiastical leader that has been called by God to judge Meldrum's worhiness:

A common Judge in Isreal wrote:Mr. Meldrum has attempted to assert revelation for those outside of his stewardship, and has used that revelation as a substitute for solid scholarship.

Oops! Actually, that comes from Allan Wyatt.

If Meldrum is doing as Allan states, he's basically pulling a "Sonia Johnson" or an "Avraham Giliadi" and is on the path to excommunication. It's actually amazing he's lasted this long.

Unless of course, those holding the proper authority to make the call, Allan Wyatt not being one of them, do not believe that Meldrum is forcing his own revelation outside his stewardship.

I think that Meldrum, so long as he can keep in control, will be just fine, and not excommunicated. I recognize the possibility he might get revelations later on that will create tension with the church, but until that's happens if it indeed ever does, it looks like Meldrum is in harmony with gospel teachings.

I'd say Allan Wyatt owes Meldrum an apology.

Wyatt also claims that it will be easier for anti-Mormons to raise their hands in victory if Meldrum continues to grow in popularity. I don't see how that could be the case since no FARMS or FAIR article has ever gained academic acceptance anywhere and there's no evidence at all to indicate that anyone who doesn't already have a testimony finds anything FARMS or FAIR puts out to be remotely convincing or credible.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Oh the conflicting revelations. That Holy Ghost is quite a prankster.
when believers want to give their claims more weight, they dress these claims up in scientific terms. When believers want to belittle atheism or secular humanism, they call it a "religion". -Beastie

So what does the Holy Ghost tell you about these revelations?

Rod could take his PR campaign to the next level by working with Famous LDS calendar mogul Chad Hardy to produce a Lamanite calendar.

Maybe he is getting his revelations from the same source that revealed to Mark Hoffmans father that his son was an innocent victim of a bomb?

Seems to me FAIR and FARMS are speaking for the church no? How odd that they chastise and condemn Meldrum for the very same thing they do.

Saying Joseph Smith had a "limited understanding" of the Book of Mormon and THE FAIR and FARMS folks know the real story seems a little strange to me. Meldrum is basically sticking to the story told by Joseph Smith.

Wyatt also claims that it will be easier for anti-Mormons to raise their hands in victory if Meldrum continues to grow in popularity. I don't think Mesoamerica has any more "evidence" than does Western US. The thing Meldrum has going for him is that he is at least following Joseph Smith.

Put the FLDS and Meldrum together and you have the actual church Joseph Smith started. ;-)
