Wait a second . . . are you implying that you did your sinful business in one of those display toilets in the plumbing department of Home Depot?

Geez Tarski. Our district made a video play that satyrized everything and everyone in the mission. We set it to music and scenes from the movie "Top Gun" (an 'R' rated movie). Somehow, just about everyone in the mission except the President and the AP's, who we respresented as swastika armband wearing thugs (called ape's).

The top baptizing district in the top baptizing zone in the mission would forever be known as the "Top Gun" district and it lasted for approximately eight months with myself as district leader for the last half (before becomming a ZL). We worked hard and played hard (only on P-day) but probably bent every rule there was.

Get with the program man!

Saw the video. I'm having trouble editing my posts.

Good story Tarski. It would be awesome if you had a picture.

Tarski, I read the story right after you posted it, and I have to thank you for posting it. I got a good chuckle, and as a fairly empathetic person I felt the pain of your discomfort and humiliation. I've got things of perhaps a different specific nature, but for which I feel a deep sense of, how do I say it, chagrin, even all these years later, from my mission time (and before it, and after it, etc.). I just accept it and move on. It is what it is, I did what I did, I said what I said, and there's nothing that can change it, I just learn from it and drive on. I'm sure you've done that too, as have we all.

Anyhow, thanks again for telling the story. After all of the fantastic intellectual discussions you've posted, it's refreshing to see a more naïvely human side of you during your mission time.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
