Like going to a Mormon event with the specific intent of crapping on them is an act of Jesus? Not saying that to wrongs make a right here, but I seriously doubt the people in those videos were there simply to enjoy the show and fellowship.

Angus, the entire enterprise of "Christianity" at least as it exists today is primarily based on hypocrisy, self-righteousness, and bigotry. Those who went to Manti in order to be mean to Mormons are as unlikely as any "Christian" to have ever read the sermon on the mount. Imagine how the Mormons could have demonstrated that they were true Christians by returning anger with love.

Exactly. Despite any ill motives on the part of the protestors, we Mormons should still display Christian charity in time of need.
We need to rise above our baser instincts of pettiness and revenge.

And by the same token, the people in that video could have done the same. Instead they decided to go bring out video cameras, argue with security and police, and try to make themselves out to be victims (what is it with Christians always needing to play the victim anyway). Two wrongs don't make a right. The Mormons could have proved what great Christ-like people they were by letting them us the bathroom. The EVs could have shown what great Christ-like people they are by not being disruptive and giving that cop a lot of backtalk. I honestly couldn't care if they acted like some Jew who lived 2000 years ago.
Considering that all we have of this incident is a few minutes of video of them arguing with a police officer and sitting in a diner talking about how someone's mom peed herself, all we have is one side of the story. Of course that one side is apparently enough for you and Boaz to immediately jump to conclusions. We don't know why they were asked to leave PRIVATE PROPERTY or why they were refused the use of restrooms on PRIVATE PROPERTY, and generally Law Enforcement isn't called unless someone is causing a disturbance. So maybe instead of leaping to the defense of these poor persecuted "Christians" the two of you might want to keep those facts in mind.

It doesn't matter what the EVs did, how bad they are, how hypocritical they are, who started it, or who is worse, the Mormons are bound to live by the sermon on the mount as they take upon themselves the name of Christ every Sunday.
It wasn't my idea that they get baptized and make deals with God about following the teachings of Jesus. They are the ones who decided that's a good idea, not me. By my standards, the Mormons were justified. They should have busted up the cameras just as a little warning.
But, the Mormons haven't made covenants to follow the moral teachings of Guy Sajer or Angus or me.

Like I said, I don't care which side is supposed to be more like some Jewish guy that lived 2000 years ago. Fact is we do not know 1. what the EVs did that prompted them to get asked to leave PRIVATE PROPERTY or 2. why the EVs were denied use of restroom facilities on PRIVATE PROPERTY. What we do know is they conveniently had a video camera ready and we more then happy to argue not just the security personnel but also a police officer when asked to leave.
Two wrong do not make a right and when you are asked to leave private property you leave.
But hey, since you want to make this about covenants that Mormons are supposed to keep, can you show me which covenant Mormons swear to live by that says when a bunch of jackass come into one of their places of worship with the apparent intent of being disruptive and disrespectful you must let them you the toilet in the name of Jesus Christ, amen?

You come onto my property and you harass me, like hell I'm going to let you relieve yourself in my toilet.
In the end, it's irrelevant to me what some mythical man-God who lived 2000 years ago might have done in this situation.
Yes, EV's are hypocrites. Yes, Mormons are hypocrites. Each claims to be guided by the love of the mythical mad-God, but each acts like self-centered jerks when it suits them. So what? If you want to use my crapper, treat me with civility.
God . . . "who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, . . . and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him ..."
I will remember that in case I ever find myself in your neighborhood and the urge doth manifest itself.

I could be mistaken about which event this was, but If I recall correctly, there was a recent LDS event where non-lds were dressed as Joseph Smiths many wives and were lined up single file along the sidewalk and later were not allowed to use restrooms which were provided for the public.
