I have serious issues with anyone whos going to try to tell me gays are born that way.
Are pedophiles born that way? Are furries born that way? Are swingers born that way? Are guys that like to get defacated on by hookers born that way?
I gotta go for now. Be back tommorow.

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. - Plato

How will these people be resurrected? Do you think that men will be resurrected as women in some cases, or vice versa?
So what you're saying is that while in mortality, having a female brain in a male body is only a "test" from God? That such people unduly afflicted by this biological condition, and through no choice of their own (unless they had an agreement in pre-mortality), must endure this "test", and eventually be resurrected in their "true" condition?
Why would God put a person through such a test? Allowing them (some males) to be born with a female brain, yet expect them to conform to heterosexual marriage?

Murder and being unchaste are more closely related than you think.
Perhaps so. I do wonder, however, why God didn't threaten William E. McLellin with death:
D&C 66:10 Seek not to be cumbered. Forsake all unrighteousness. Commit not adultery—a temptation with which thou hast been troubled.

Gaz,
What I'm getting from you is that you believe that in a state of theocracy, blood atonement for unrepentant members (don't know where that leaves me) is prescribed and warranted because death is better than hell and in the after life they will have the opportunity to choose to repent via vicarious baptism.
How'm I doing?

If I quote it, then I'm agreeing with it. Perhaps I should have stated "My own phraseology".
I don't want you to quote anything. I want you to make sense of your views in your own head and put them on this screen for me to read. That's all I've ever wanted you to do. Articulate your ideas, believes and thoughts on various issues.

Have you studied the scientific literature on this subject?
I have. There's nothing entirely conclusive either way. Sexual orientation is thought to be the result of a hormone shower in utero, it's thought to be the result of eroticizing early sexual experiences, same sex attraction is thought to be a normal part of nature itself or a perversion. Again, the coin hasn't landed either way.
Ray, have you read up on the twin studies? Just curious.

I have, Jersey Girl. And I know one Mormon case where twins had different sexual orientations, one heterosexual, the other homosexual. Other studies show that many, if not most juveniles experiment with bi-sexuality at some early stage, yet what determines their later "choice" of sexuality relates more to the brain than it does to environment.
Now, let me be a bit crude here. Do you ever have any trouble determining, just from mannerisms and expressions, whether some people are gay? I can't always tell it, but in some cases it's like a bull in a China shop. That "empirical observation", along with the scientific studies, persuades me that they're not acting. I think of a neighbourhood friend who everyone "knew" was gay, but he never came out until a few years ago. Today he lives with his boyfriend. Do you think any of us who knew him from a kid thought this was totally strange? Nay, we expected this outcome.
