p.s. Look, she spelled OP. Maybe I should've opened a new topic thread for that. ;-)

Then why did Lot see his daughters as a fair trade?

Desperation. He was trying to save the city from the angels. A direct attack upon them would have ended it all right then and there. the angels struck the crowd with blindness until Lot could try to persuade others of his household to leave.

Oh see, I can't even get off it for 5 seconds. ;-)

How does offering up his daughters to be gang raped make Lot a righteous man?

Lets put you in the shoes of a faithful follower of Christ in his day. What would oyu have been willing to do in order to keep him from being crucified? What would you have been wiling to do to keep the mob from the angels?

No problem. If I were a faithful follower of Christ in his day, I would have abandoned him completely just as they did.

Now a more serious reply. I wouldn't have offered my daughters up to be gang raped. I would have trusted God who presumably sent the angels to take care of the situation.

I think he just panicked. The angels stepped in and took care of them anyway.
