It's okay with me though.

Nehor,

If they seem odd then a wizard did it.

Nehor,

I don't know why you resort to those crude home made smilies. What? You don't have google?

Does Shades aversion to smilies relate to some unfortunate childhood incident?

No. Smilies simply transform an otherwise professional-looking message board into what looks like a coloring book.

Just for the record, our dear Dr. did give us a trial smilie run to see if we could manage smilies respectfully and appropriately but we failed the test.

:-(

I know how difficult it was for him to acquiesce to such an attempt so he must be praised for his kindness and compassion to those of us who enjoy our smilies. ;-)

Well, the legal owner is the user who goes by "Mav" (he's only made two posts here that I recall). Keene is the head technical guru and has all the FTP and database rights, but the site was originally created at my behest and on my dime. Therefore, they allow me to run it as I see fit, so for all intents and purposes it may as well be "my" site, since it pretty much is in everything but name only. (I'm quite sure that even the legal owner considers it to be "mine.")

If so, I want you to tell me, if you please, under what conditions you'd censor my post.

Okay.

Just tell me, plain & simple, what would warrant you to scratch my post?

There's only one thing that would warrant us scratching your post (see below).

I'll give you few examples;
-I'll call you names

Nope. In my line of work I routinely get called names far more egregious than anything anyone here can possibly come up with, so getting called names on the Internet doesn't even register on my radar.

-I'll defend LDS Church

Nope. That's half the purpose of this message board.

-I'll offend LDS Church

Nope. That's the other half of the purpose of this message board.

-I'll offend moderators somehow

Nope. We're secure enough in our opinions & policies that we can easily address whatever you care to dish out.

What does it take to be scratched from this board.

Only one thing can get you scratched from this board: Making disparaging remarks about Wink, the official J-pop group of MormonDiscussions.com.

Because I don't get it. What is offensive what is obnoxious.

Only one thing is offensive and obnoxious: Trash-talking or criticizing Wink, our official J-pop group. Sachiko and Shoko are strictly off-limits.

Since You guys are controlling such a laissez fair board.
What is your limit?

Our limit is this: We can handle anything and everything up to but not including negative remarks directed toward Wink.

Thank you for taking your time answering my naïve Q's.
I admit, I take it personal when my posts are deleted without a good reason.
In my book if you create a site like this, as owner you are inviting people to comment,
post their ideas.
In a way, you are creating a public site (even though it belongs to you),
therefore posters have right to express their opinions, even though it might offend your, belief,
principles or whatever you hold dear.
I've been chased away from MAD&d board, censored countless times from RFM,
for stupidest reasons. I don't know how these guys survive being such "Intellectual Midgets"
and get away with it.
On one site "One cannot offend sensitive Mormon beliefs"
On other site "you cannot defend Mormonism, this is not a site for defense of faith".
Let me get it out my chest, you idiot (not you MD guys) moderator who censors my posts;
I'm not even a fricckin Mormon, I have nothing against Mormons, when some of your lame
posters make false claims I feel need to tell them they are full of S**t.
On other board when you expose them & catch them in their lies you are "Anti", you get axed.

I feel bad because both of those boards are full of reasonable people, unfortunately the most
reasonable ones are constantly chased away. because of myopic vision of stupid moderators.
there's nothing wrong to challenge anybody's religious sensibility.
there's nothing wrong for anybody putting me in my place if I deserve it.
Peace

You're welcome, although I'm a bit surprised you had to ask them again. Over the months you've spent here, have we or have we not built up a satisfactory track record? Why the continued "jitters?"

I admit, I take it personal when my posts are deleted without a good reason.

As do we all.

In my book if you create a site like this, as owner you are inviting people to comment, post their ideas.

Indeed.

In a way, you are creating a public site (even though it belongs to you), therefore posters have right to express their opinions, even though it might offend your, belief, principles or whatever you hold dear.

You're preaching to the choir here.

Over the months that you've been here, haven't myself and the other moderators more than adequately established that we're neither RfM nor MA&D?

I'm just a little surprised that you're still worried about us even after all this time.

Well, let me put it this way...
You do not intimidate me, nor you try....
My name is not Runtu,
I can take it.
And
Dish it.
Your Job is, just to let it.
I can handle the rest.
Just let it flow.......
