True Purpose of FARMS

Post by _Inconceivable »

Joey and Christopher made some excellent points on another thread referring to the authenticity of the church's Cumorah. Peterson shot back in his typical condescending way.

Below is a portion of his post and my comment:

Short List of those sharing the IDENTICAL "OPINION":

Prophets, Seers and Revelators:

Joseph Smith Jr.
George Albert Smith

Special Witnesses, Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ:

Orson Pratt
Anthony W. Ivins
James E. Talmage
Marion G. Romney
Bruce R. McConkie
B.H. Roberts

Short List of those having a VARYING OPINION:

(People of no particular significance or Authority to Speak for the Mormon Church)

Daniel C. Peterson (mindfreak)

It has occurred to me that it doesn't really matter which historical Mormon subject is being commented upon. Every issue Peterson and entities such as FARMS attempt to clarify, ends up destroying the absolutes of the testimonies of men they profess to respect and to follow.

FARMS was one of the catalysts that destroyed my "testimony". They didn't reveal the prophets, seers and revelators as merely men. They pointed out that we have no certainty in the words these Legal Administrators convey as God's Saviors of Men. A thought that I never considered my entire life while an active member of the church.
