Get it in writing from Daniel? You know, Jersey, it's one thing when we lie to others, which we habitually do, but another entirely when we lie to ourselves.

Trevor, you know as well as I do that meeting DSM-IV criteria for pathological lying is a requisite condition of inclusion on the Skinny-L and I don't know why you'd lie about it here other than the obvious fact that you can't help yourself.

At the least, Freudianism provides fodder for occasional jokes (and a thin veneer of intellectual cover for the kinds of jokes most often associated with sexually curious but insecure adolescents), which is, I suppose, some contribution to modern life.
