No, I really wasn't criticizing you. You take a lot of flak here, I expect you not to roll over and take it. I was simply providing evidence that Harmony was correct, because you seemed to be denying it.

You still have not pointed out where I was inaccurate in my statements. Surely if I'm that stupid (see your remark about my "intellectual virtues"), then it really shouldn't be difficult to do.

I wasn't denying what you think I was denying, but I would have to be either self-loathing or an idiot not to deny what she was claiming.

Here's a hint: If somebody seriously describes a rose to me as "a mindless organism that sucks its nourishment from the dirt and mud and muck, flourishes when drenched with excrement, and lures people with its 'beauty' so as to tear their flesh, make them bleed, and cause them pain," he's not actually saying anything inaccurate. But I also don't know that it's really worth discussing horticulture with him or inviting him to be a judge at a rose festival.

Sorry, beastie, but I'm just not interested in discussing these topics with you. And I'm not going to. So why drag it out? Why not simply let it go?

So you finally concede I wasn't inaccurate.

Funny how each of the examples you constructed to demonstrate what you think I was doing contains a serious inaccuracy.

Granpappy was a monkey? The rose wants to tear at someone's flesh and make them bleed?? LOL.

Harmony cannot be correct, Trix. If Harmony is correct, the earth shakes and the sun falls out of the sky.

Let's look at a few Christian values, all of which are basic to living one's religion, if one is Mormon:

1. Love your enemies.

So... Is Scratch Daniel's enemy? Is there even one minute grain of love shown by Daniel towards Mr Scratch? Daniel is required by the gospel of Jesus Christ to love Scratch. What do we have to prove that he does indeed exhibit this required love? The list is pretty short. Actually, the list is nonexistent.

And I think there are several other people on Daniel's list of Unloved Enemies. I'm sad to say I think he puts me there.

I think this one is a miss.

2. Be kind to everyone.

So... How much kindness is exhibited on a daily basis by Daniel in diverse places on the internet? Is he truly known for his kindness in his many posts?

I think this one is a miss.

3. Love your parents.

Well, I think Daniel loves his parents and the rest of his family.

I think this one is a hit.

4. Love God.

Well, I think Daniel does love God. I think he loves the church too, so much so that sometimes I think he gets the two confused.

I give him a hit on this one.

5. Be honest.

I don't see Daniel as dishonest. I think he's sometimes wrong, but I don't see him as dishonest.

I give him a hit on this one.

6. Be humble.

Oh boy. This one just doesn't fit the Daniel we know and love here. Perhaps he saves his humility for Sundays.

I have to call this one a miss.

7. Forgive thy neighbor.

Hmmm... Forgiveness doesn't seem to be Daniel's forté. Look how long he's had the feud going with Scratch, even though Scratch has tried to extend the hand of friendship several times. And look how he still treats Trixie and me. Well, I may deserve it... wazing really was kinda mean of my friends and I... but Trixie never does anything to deserve his vitrol.

I'm calling this one a miss.

8. Be chaste

Well, I think we'd know if Daniel didn't follow this one to the letter. I'm sure he's a very chaste man, and I find that quite likeable about him.

This one is a hit.

9. Be trustworthy.

This is an important trait. And overall, I think Daniel is trustworthy. There are just a few chinks in his armor that makes me think that on some occasions, he'd make a good used car salesman.

Gotta give this one mostly a hit, but sometimes a miss.

10. Endure to the end.

I think Daniel shows his endurance on a daily basis here. He endures much, and gives as good as he gets.

This one is a hit.

So... we have some hits and some misses. Pretty normal, I'd. say.

I have something to add to the list:

His assault rifle is still with his neighbor and he hasn't bothered to get it and go on a Scratch-killing spree. That shows love.

"I admit it; I'm a petty, petty man." -Some Schmo

Wow. To call that delusions of grandeur wouldn't begin to do it credit.

Sorry. You don't loom anywhere near that large in my thoughts, let alone in the cosmos as a whole.

Right. If I would simply plead guilty to a few things like leading a smear campaign against Mike Quinn aimed at destroying his life, being a racist, lying about the moolah I rake in as a Mopologist, threatening to murder Scratch, blaming non-Mormons for an apartment fire, being an anti-Semite, exploiting tragedies to advance my ideology, drooling with pleasure at the thought of other people's suffering, and at least a half dozen other charges, all would be sweetness and light. Poor Scratch. All he wants is for me to agree with him.

Just using your own hyperbole, Daniel. Or do you have a patent on it?

Umm, no. Not really. I gave you a hint. A single one.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm not interested in discussing these topics with you. Perhaps I haven't been clear enough?

You're in no position to know my heart, Harmony.

Try to grasp that idea.

I don't know if I 'never' do anything to deserve it (perhaps he remembers when I parroted his "white crow"* theory to ben mcguire who roundly criticized it without knowing that I'd used dan's words...but, in my defense, I'm pretty sure I linked the thread where Dan actually said it) but over the years I've noticed male believers display a tendency to be more condescending and sneering towards female critics.
